Nature house in Lanaken

The cottage was comfortably furnished and clean. The bathroom is a bit on the small side. The kitchen was missing some essential kitchenware, so we bought a few things ourselves at the thrift store: tea glasses, dessert bowls, coffee cups... There really should be a more generous selection of kitchen supplies.
The towel set was too small for a week’s stay. Since the set came from Action, I got the impression that the amount we paid was higher than the purchase price—which is a shame.
The fan did provide some cooling (it was very hot) but was quite noisy.
All in all, a pleasant stay, but a few simple improvements could make it even more enjoyable.

Het huisje was comfortabel ingericht en schoon. De badkamer is aan de krappe kant. In de keuken misten we de nodige huisraad, we hebben bij de kringloopwinkel zelf wat dingen gekocht: theeglazen, dessertschaaltjes, koffiekopjes... Er mag echt wel wat ruimer keukenmateriaal zijn.
Het handdoekenpakket was voor een week te beperkt. Aangezien het pakket van de Action kwam, kreeg ik de indruk dat het bedrag dat wij betaalden hoger was dan de aanschafprijs, jammer.
De ventilator bood wel enige verkoeling (het was erg warm) maar maakte veel lawaai.
Al met al een fijn verblijf, maar met enkele simpele verbeterpunten nog aangenamer te maken.

The cottage is located on the edge of a large bungalow park in a wooded area and is nice and quiet. Although neighbors can sometimes be noisy.

Het huisje staat aan de rand van een groot bungalowpark in een bosgebied en lekker rustig. Alhoewel buren ook lawaai kunnen maken.

The cottage wasn't clean. There were a lot of harvestmen and other spiders, especially in the bedrooms.
There were an awful lot of fat flies inside, and after a few days, dead flies. Very dirty. I don't understand why there isn't a fly screen on the door.
The windows could only be opened a crack. With the high temperatures, we couldn’t air out the place. Not to mention that there were so many flies inside.
The outside of the cottage was downright dirty, and the shed was really filthy.
There was mold in the bathroom.
The lounge chairs were covered in bird droppings, and the lounge cushions were very dirty and torn.
There was very little cutlery and tableware. And it’s a shame there wasn’t a regular coffee maker; instead, there was a machine that uses environmentally unfriendly pods. That doesn’t fit with a nature house.
There were open trash bags outside behind the cottage.
We definitely won’t be coming back or recommending it. Unfortunately.
That said, communication was very pleasant.

Het huisje was niet schoon. Vooral in de slaapkamers veel hooiwagens en andere spinnen.
Ontzettend veel dikke vliegen in huis en na enkele dagen dode vliegen. Heel vies. Begrijp niet dat er geen hor voor de deur is.
Ramen konden slechts op een kiertje open. Met de hoge temperatuur konden we niet luchten. Ook niet omdat er zoveel vliegen in huis zaten.
Buitenkant van huisje was ronduit vies en het schuurtje was heel goor.
Schimmel in de badkamer.
Ligstoelen zaten onder de vogeluitwerpselen en ligkussen was heel vies en kapot.
Weinig bestek en serviesgoed. En jammer dat er geen gewoon koffiezetapparaat was; wel een apparaat met milieuonvriendelijke cupjes. Past niet bij een natuurhuisje.
Buiten achter het huisje lagen open vuilniszaken.
We zullen zeker niet terugkomen of aanbevelen. Helaas.
De contacten verliepen overigens zeer prettig.
