On the edge of forest and field lies our completely detached vacation home. On the front or back terrace or on one of the lawns: there is always a place to sit on one of the outdoor chairs in sun or shade listening to the silence and the birds. From the corridor to which there are three large bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a toilet, you enter the living room. With windows on two sides, it is bright and sometimes you can see the herd of cows grazing. The bedrooms with double beds overlook the forest and stay cool in summer. The third bedroom with bunk beds and sink has a quiet workspace. The kitchen with cozy pass-through to the living room is amply equipped with cooking utensils. There is a dishwasher and in the pantry a washing machine and large refrigerator. The house is largely electrically heated, the living room has a gas stove. We consider the cottage suitable for up to four adults and possibly two children.
Nature and surroundings
The Dwingelderveld is a beautiful area in Drenthe. Directly from the house you can make lovely walks across the fields, through the woods and along or across the heath with its fens. There are beautiful bike rides between the different villages and on bike paths through nature. In Ruinen you can get all the basic necessities. In neighboring Ansen and Dwingeloo you can buy organic products. The area offers: the visitor center of the Dwingelderveld with playground, the sheep herd, the mill Zaandplatte, the radio telescope, gardens to visit and several regional museums. Ruinen has a fine swimming pool. There are swimming lakes: the Blue Lake and Schoonhoven. In Diever, the Shakespeare Open Air Theater plays in the summer. Further trips you can make to: dolmens near Havelte, Heerenveen with Museum Belvédère, Drents Museum Assen, Remembrance Centre Westerbork. For children there is the Drentse Koe in Ruinerwold and the Boomkroonpad near Drouwen.
