Nature house in Havelte

Everything was really great; clean, comfortable beds, nice shower.
The only downside is that there's no space for your groceries.

Alles echt prima in orde; schoon, goede bedden, fijne douche.
Enige minpuntje, er is geen ruimte voor je boodschappen.

A lovely house. Great location, with several hiking trails through the woods right next to the house.

Heerlijk huis. Geweldige ligging, diverse wandelroutes door het bos direct naast het huis.

We really had a wonderful time—what a lovely cottage in a beautiful location! It’s fully equipped, with a very clean bathroom, a nice kitchen, comfortable beds, and nice furniture (including a washer/dryer, oven/range, and dishwasher). There were also plenty of toys, magazines, and books—we and the kids practically didn’t have to bring anything with us. There’s a big TV, but we didn’t turn it on. Instead, we relaxed in the garden on the lounge chairs, played board games, or read a good book or magazine. There’s a trampoline for the kids, and there was plenty of space for an inflatable pool. The garden is surrounded by lots of greenery and trees, which provides plenty of privacy.

Tip: Bring a fan for hot days (it was actually quite hot during the first week of our stay). And bring barista cups for the coffee machine—they’re not available at the local AH. :-)

We hebben echt super genoten, wat een fijn huisje op een mooie plek! Een heel compleet huisje, zeer nette badkamer, fijne keuken, goede bedden, fijn meubilair (incl wasmachine/droger en oven/combi en vaatwasser). Veel speelgoed ook en tijdschriften/boeken, wij en de kinderen hoefde praktisch niks mee te nemen. Er hangt een grote TV, maar die hebben we niet aan gehad. In plaats daarvan zaten we lekker in de tuin op de ligstoelen of speelden we een bordspelletje of lazen we een goed boek of tijdschrift. Er is een trampoline voor de kids en er was genoeg ruimte voor een opblaasbad. Rondom de tuin staat veel groen en veel bomen, hierdoor heb je veel privacy.

Tip: neem voor warme dagen een ventilator mee (het was ook wel erg heet in de eerste week van ons verblijf). En neem barista cups mee voor de koffiemachine, deze zijn niet verkrijgbaar bij de lokale AH. :-)

The surroundings are absolutely beautiful—just what you’d expect from Drenthe: heathland and forests. There are lovely hiking trails right around the corner. We rented bikes in the village and went on some lovely rides. It’s also a great spot for mountain biking or gravel biking. Very wooded, with charming villages full of thatched-roof houses. There are good amenities nearby, such as a supermarket (with a charging station), bike rentals, an outdoor swimming pool, and—a bit further away—several small lakes where you can swim. Right around the cottage, it’s peaceful, and you feel like you’re right in the middle of the forest with all the birdsong. There’s plenty for the kids to do nearby, such as the large (water) playground at the Drentse Koe in Ruinerwold or the Duinen Zathe amusement park in Appelscha. And, of course, there are plenty of lakes for swimming.

De omgeving is super mooi, wat je van Drenthe mag verwachten: heide en bossen. Direct om de hoek zijn al mooie wandelpaden. We hebben in het dorp fietsen gehuurd en mooie tochten gemaakt. Ook kan je goed MTB-en of gravelen. Erg bosrijk dus, mooie dorpen met veel rietgedekte huizen. In de buurt goede voorzieningen zoals een supermarkt (met laadpaal), fietsverhuur, openluchtzwembad en op wat grotere afstand diverse meertjes om te kunnen zwemmen. Direct rond het huisje is het rustig en zit je voor je gevoel midden in het bos met alle vogelgeluiden. Voor de kids is er veel te doen in de buurt, zoals de grote (water)speeltuin bij de Drentse Koe in Ruinerwold of pretpark Duinen Zathe in Appelscha. En daarnaast dus veel zwemmeertjes.

We had a great time and would love to come back! Nice atmosphere in the cottage and despite the rain we had a great time both inside and in nature. Minus point is that it was a little difficult reading on the couch at night with the big light, but that is nothing compared to the rest.

We hebben het erg fijn gehad en komen graag een keer terug! Leuke sfeer in het huisje en ondanks de regen hebben we ons top vermaakt, zowel binnen als in de natuur. Minipuntje is dat het 's avonds op de bank wat moeilijk lezen was met het grote licht, maar dat valt in het niet bij de rest.

What a cozy, complete and well cared for cottage! For the kids the toys (and games) were ideal and it was great that the beds were already made. Spacious garden around it with all the trimmings and from the quiet and spacious park you can walk into the woods. The Havelterberg nearby is beautiful and facilities are nearby. We enjoyed!

Wat een gezellig, compleet en verzorgd huisje! Voor de kids was het aanwezige speelgoed (en spelletjes) ideaal en het was heerlijk dat de bedden al opgemaakt waren. Ruime tuin eromheen met alles erop en eraan en vanuit het rustige en ruim opgezette park loop je zo het bos in. De Havelterberg in de buurt is prachtig en voorzieningen zijn vlakbij. Wij hebben genoten!
