This child and dog friendly nature house is wonderfully sheltered in the woods on the outskirts of the village of Havelte. The house is completely on one level, has two bedrooms, a living room/kitchen, a bathroom with toilet and shower and an amazing garden all around! In the garden are several places and terraces created where you can sit, lie, play or jump. The latter can be done on the round trampoline in the garden. Spot one of the many bird species in the garden or look for a squirrel in the tree. Both inside and outside the cottage, wood is the magic word: the inside of the cottage is built with beautiful wooden boards and there are two large old oaks in the garden. At the outdoor table it is nice to eat outside, which meal you can prepare, for example, on the barbecue. At the back of the garden by the fireplace the children can roast marshmallows and when it gets colder, you can light a fire in several places in the garden.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house in the woods can be found in Havelte. A village north of Meppel in the province of Drenthe, the most forested province of the Netherlands and famous for its beautiful nature reserves. The area is especially known for its unique hiking and cycling areas with heathland, forests and lakes. The National Park Dwingelderveld counts nearly 300 bird species, more than sixty fens and moors and there are two flocks of Drenthe Heath Sheep with a shepherd walking around. But also the dolmens are just around the corner. Havelte even has the third largest dolmen in the Netherlands. And in National Park De Weerribben you can go hiking and biking. But the best way to discover this national park is by boat. In short: forest and water around the corner! And finally, in Havelte you can also recreate sportily. For example, on the 18-hole golf course, in the outdoor pool, on the tennis court or one of the riding stables in the neighborhood.
