Will you come and enjoy our fine wooden cottage far away from traffic jams and crowds? Relax on the lovely lounge sofas with panoramic views of the nature garden? Or a week of quiet (tele)work, while during your break you can walk straight into the forest for a lunch walk? Our first guests didn't want to leave - and that's saying a lot! Our attractive and sustainable vacation home (2024) is spacious and bright. It is comfortable with good beds, a wonderful shower, underfloor heating and a cozy wood stove. You can enjoy sitting inside and outside. The nature garden with wadi, heather and native plants is under development. It is also a nice, quiet place for a "workation" with excellent Wi-Fi and UTP connections.The house is located on the edge of a quiet park on a fairly open area. Grand cafe within walking distance.In the house is a bedroom with a double bed, and attached to the living room is a loft with two single beds, the loft is closed off from the living room by a cloth.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is centrally located on the Hondsrug among vast, quiet forests, moors and beautiful stream valleys. Hiking and cycling maps are waiting for you! Also mountain bikers can indulge themselves here (MTB route Gieten-Gasselte). On hot days you can take a cooling dip in the beautiful natural swimming water of 't Nije Hemelriek and Gasselterveld after a 10-minute walk. The location is ideal for exploring natural areas in the northern Netherlands, such as National Park Drentsche Aa, Fochteloërveen, Drents-Friese Wold, Dwingelderveld, Zuidlaardermeer, the Onlanden, Dollard and Lauwersmeer. In the cottage you will find binoculars and bird guide for use by guests. Or discover lesser-known sides of Drenthe such as fun local festivals with theater and music and excellent restaurants. We are happy to share our tips!
