In 1332 the Waal was dammed up. First at Oostendam, later also at Heerjansdam. The Waal has a length of 8 km and runs from HI Ambacht, through Rijsoord to Heerjansdam. The Waal is a beautiful water for recreational use. So there are many boats, suppers, canoeists, swimmers and fishermen. You have the possibility to rent a boat at your stay. There are many restaurants nearby, these are also accessible by boat. The price per night is based on 2 persons.
