The apartment is situated in a unique location—one of the most beautiful spots in Drenthe—in Dwingeloo, across from Havezate de Oldengearde. It is situated in the old sheepfold, a thatched-roof building designated as a national monument, dating back to around 1500. One of the side walls features old beams, with clay and twigs woven between them. Renovation completed in January 2025. The use of old elements and building materials creates a nostalgic atmosphere. Comfortably furnished, with insulation and underfloor heating combined with antique radiators. Spacious layout with room for four guests. In the past, this barn was used as a hayloft and livestock stables. There is also an apartment upstairs. From here, you can head straight out into nature for beautiful walks. And within biking distance are three lovely, expansive nature reserves: Dwingelderveld, Holtingerveld, and Het Drents-Friesewold National Park.Other distances: Shakespeare Theater 9 km, Beilen train station 13 km. Nature and surroundings
The apartment is on the ground floor, with only a small threshold at the front door. You enter through the hallway, which has a separate restroom next to it. From there, you enter a spacious living area with an open kitchen. Adjacent to the living area are two spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom has a box-spring bed—one measuring 1x160 and one measuring 1x180. The bathroom features a spacious shower and a sink for two. The beds are made for you, and there are plenty of towels and washcloths available. There is a TV and radio in the room. You are welcome to use the Wi-Fi. The kitchen is equipped with a combination oven and microwave, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and a dishwasher. A coffee maker and electric kettle are also provided.
