Nature house in Ruinen

The people are warm and welcoming, and the cottage is very comfortable.
The only things missing were a few kitchen items: a tea strainer, a sharp potato peeler (the two provided were too dull to use), a salad bowl, and a medium-sized saucepan.
We didn’t want to ask for them, even though we could have. We managed by, among other things, using the wok as a salad bowl and an extra saucepan.
The towels were very stiff; they hardly felt like fabric anymore because no fabric softener was used. The showerhead produced sharp, hard jets of water that almost hurt. The showerhead is calcified; the holes need to be pierced with a thick needle or steel pin to remove the limescale.
It’s not a matter of life and death, but normal water pressure and soft towels would certainly enhance the experience.

De mensen zijn hartelijk, het huisje zeer comfortabel.
Er ontbraken alleen wat keukenspullen: een theezeefje, een scherp aardappelschilmesje (de 2 aanwezige waren te bot voor gebruik), een sla-kom en een middelmaatje kookpan.
We wilden er ook niet om vragen, al had dit wel gekund. We hebben ons gered o.a. door de wok als sla-kom en als extra kookpan te gebruiken.
De handdoeken waren zeer hard, voelden bijna niet meer aan als van stof, door geen gebruik van wasverzachter. De douchekop gaf scherpe harde läserstralen die bijna pijn deden. Douchkop is verkalkt; de gaatjes moeten met een dikke naald of stalen pin doorstoken worden om de kalk te verwijderen.
Het is geen halszaak maar normale waterstralen en lekkere handdoeken zouden het plezier toch vergroten.

In a word, it was amazing!
The deep silence had a healing effect on us. Surrounded by nature, this is, in my opinion, a fantastic location. The cottage itself is great: comfortable beds, all the essentials were provided, and we received a warm welcome. In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back if possible.

Het was in één woord geweldig!
De grote stilte heeft een helende uitwerking op ons gehad. Midden in de natuur is dit naar mijn beleving een top locatie. Het huisje zelf is prima: goede bedden, alle benodigdheden waren aanwezig, hartelijk ontvangst. Kortom we hebben ervan genoten en komen heel graag terug als dat mogelijk is.

In alle opzichten een fijn vakantiehuis in oude boerenschuur. Wij hebben niets gemist. Vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer.
