Nature house in Geeuwenbrug

The cottage is very cozily decorated downstairs; we didn’t need the wood stove, but it’s a great addition for cold days. The bathroom is fantastic—the beautiful colors instantly brighten your day in the morning. The beds are comfortable.
Still, a few points of criticism: the cottage wasn’t equally clean everywhere, especially the kitchen and the window screens upstairs. We missed having a coffee maker for filter coffee; we found out we had to brew it ourselves using a pot and a filter. If Senseo isn’t your favorite, that’s a real letdown. The TV is incredibly complicated—we couldn’t get it to work. We had plenty to catch up on as friends, but it was still a shame. We didn’t want to bother the owner with these questions, though we certainly could have. There’s no outdoor lighting; we got home late on Saturday, and a light by the front door would have been nice—it’s incredibly dark out there. Despite these issues, we had a great time and the cottage felt cozy.

Het huisje is beneden erg sfeervol ingericht, de houtkachel was niet nodig maar is voor koude dagen een aanwinst. De badkamer is fantastisch met de mooie kleuren dat maakt je in de ochtend meteen vrolijk. De bedden zijn goed.
Toch een paar kritiek punten, het huisje was niet overal even schoon, mn de keuken en horren voor de ramen boven. We mistten een koffiezetter voor filter koffie, we kwamen erachter dat we met een pot en filter zelf op moesten schenken. Als Senseo niet je favoriet is dan is het een gemis. De tv is ontzettend ingewikkeld deze kregen we niet aan, nu hadden we als vriendinnen voldoende bij te kletsen maar het was wel jammer. Voor deze vragen wilden we de eigenaar niet storen, wat wel had gekund hoor. Buiten is geen verlichting, we kwamen zaterdag laat thuis en een lamp bij de voordeur is wel fijn, het is ontzettend donker. Ondanks deze punten hebben we het naar ons zin gehad en voelde het huisje prettig aan.

A beautiful setting, with the added bonus of horses behind the house living in a lovely natural habitat. The house is located on the property bordering the forest. The nature and surroundings are beautiful; we went hiking in the Drents-Friese Forest near Diever, and a visit to the country life market in Havelte rounded out our weekend.

Prachtige omgeving met als cadeau paarden achter het huis die verblijven in een mooie natuurlijke habitat. Het huis bevind zich op het erf grenzend aan het bos. De natuur en omgeving is prachtig, wandelen deden we in het Drents Friese woud nabij Diever en een bezoek aan de landleven markt in Havelte maakte ons weekend compleet.

This was great. I’ve had a few less-than-ideal experiences in the past. A few small, well-intentioned suggestions for this cottage: window screens in the bedroom and a large tray to make it easier to enjoy breakfast and the like in the garden.

Dit was prima. In het verleden wel eens een wat mindere ervaring gehad. Kleine, positief bedoelde, suggesties voor dit huisje: horren in de slaapkamer en een groot dienblad om ontbijt e.d. in de tuin te vergemakkelijken.

Beautiful place. Nice little house.
