Nature house in Reeuwijk

The cottage is neat and simple. It is fully equipped (large refrigerator, washing machine, combi oven). We had to throw the toilet paper in the trash and could not flush. This is because there is no sewerage to the island. Water from the tap, just drinkable. And nice hot water when showering. Cottage is heated with a wood stove. And cooking on gas. That took some getting used to, because at home we cook electric.

Het huisje is netjes en eenvoudig. Het is wel van alle gemakken voorzien (grote koelkast, wasmachine, combi oven). Even wennen was dat we het wc papier in de prullenbak moesten gooien en niet door konden spoelen. Er is namelijk geen riolering naar het eilandje aangelegd. Water uit de kraan, gewoon drinkbaar. En lekker warm water bij het douchen. Huisje wordt verwarmt met een houtkachel. En koken op gas. Dat was voor ons weer even wennen, omdat wij thuis elektrisch koken.

Lovely with your own group on an island. We had few other visitors on the water during our stay in the May vacation. And we had no (noise) nuisance from the houses located on the water. Sometimes you could hear laughter from a distance, but we did not experience this as disturbing. In the cottage it is quiet at night. You do hear the lapping of the water as it hits the boats, but we did not find this disturbing.

Heerlijk met je eigen groep op een eilandje. Wij hadden tijdens ons verblijf in de meivakantie weinig andere bezoekers op het water. En we hadden ook geen (geluids)overlast van de huizen gelegen aan het water. Wel hoorde je soms op afstand gelach, maar wij hebben dit niet als storend ervaren. In het huisje is het ‘s nachts stil. Je hoort wel het kabbelen van het water als dat tegen de boten komt, maar dat vinden wij niet storend.

Very special place in the middle of the lake. Sometimes there were some bratty students who wanted to dock at the island and then the peace was far away but other than that occasional time it was really enjoyable.

Heel bijzonder plekje midden op de plas. Soms kwamen er wat brallerige studenten die bij het eiland willen aanleggen en dan is de rust ver te zoeken maar buiten die enkele keer is het werkelijk genieten.
