Nature house in Kevelaer

Located in an idyllic spot on the edge of the forest, this old, weathered forest cabin accommodates 9 people. Four spacious bedrooms invite you to linger, as do a self-catering kitchen, a cozy living room with a flat-screen TV, heating, and hot water from a heat pump, and a modern bathroom. Although the house is quite spacious, it still feels cozy; taller guests may sometimes have to duck their heads. The door heights date back to the 19th century. The house is surrounded by a natural garden, gnarled fruit trees, and a pasture. There are no immediate neighbors at the Waldkate.

Located right next to the Rouenhof (a 5-minute bike ride away), you’re always welcome there. You can see who can bleat the loudest with the goats or enjoy life on a paddle tour or a farm tour. You can grab a bite to eat at our farm café. Kervenheim is located right on the “Lower Rhine Route.” It’s a wonderful way to explore the area by bike (known as a “Fiets” in the Lower Rhine region)—maybe even pop over to neighboring Holland or say hello to the Rhine? The nuclear power plant in Kalkar—which, fortunately, never went into operation and is now a recreational park—and “Irrland” in Twisteden are also popular family destinations. We’re happy to rent out bicycles—with or without electric assist—so you can explore the Lower Rhine. The large garden features a terrace and barbecue facilities.
