Nature house in Windeck

An absolute recommendation to get out and relax for a weekend. 1000 thanks to Irmelin, who gave us a warm welcome, told us lots of exciting things and even spontaneously repaired the sauna for us!

Lovingly furnished, beautifully situated on the edge of a field, walks along the River Sieg from the caravan door, our nature highlight: the starry sky on a clear night.

Liebevoll eingerichtet, schön gelegen am Feldrand, Wanderungen an der Sieg ab der Wohnwagentür, unser Natur-Highlight: der Sternenhimmel bei klarer Nacht.

I decided to go there again and again after this wonderful experience. A quick break, without a long journey, to quickly get back to everyday life. It was only two days, which gave us the feeling of returning home refreshed after a week.

Ich habe mich entschieden, nach dieser wunderbaren Erfahrung immer wieder dorthin zu fahren. Eine schnelle Erholung, ohne lange Anreise um ganz schnell mal wieder geerdet in den Alltag zurückzukehren. Es waren nur zwei Tage, die uns das Gefühl gaben, nach einer Woche erholt zurück nach Hause zu kommen.

I was pleasantly surprised by the top condition of the furnishings, a great bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen with a de longhi coffee machine. My daughter and I used the terrace in front of the cottage for breakfast with a view of Windeck Castle and the small meadow in front of it for yoga and meditation. We read a little on the rocking bench with a view of the castle after a beautiful hike through the countryside past horses and sheep meadows, through the museum-like Altwindeck, where benches along the hiking trail invite you to rest and linger. And in the evening we fell asleep with a view of a wheat field and a grove adorned by the sunset in the background. Perfect relaxation in peace and nature.

Ich war positiv überrascht über den Top Zustand der Ausstattung, ein tolles Bad, eine bestens ausgestattete Küche mit de longhi Kaffeeautomaten. Vor dem Häuschen die Terasse nutzten meine Tochter und ich für Frühstück mit Blick auf die Burg Windeck und die kleine Wiese davor für Joga und Meditation. Auf der Schaukelbank mit Blick auf die Burg lasen wir ein bisschen nach einer schönen Wanderung durch die Landschaft an Pferde und Schafwiesen vorbei, durch das museumsartige Altwindeck, Am Wanderweg laden immer wieder Bänke zum rasten und verweilen. Und abends schliefen wir mit Ausblick auf ein Weizenfeld und einen Hain verziert vom Sonnenuntergang im Hintergrund ein. Perfekte Erholung in Ruhe und Natur.

Disappointing. The place would have the potential to score full points if its own rules were adhered to.

Enttäuschend. Dabei hätte der Ort das Potential zu vollen Punktzahl wenn die eigenen Regeln eingehalten werden würden.

I only booked because the description said "no groups, no parties". The fact that a Persian group booked into a small tree house next to me was a bit of a shock. I am very patient and tolerant but I was very disappointed with the stay. I had booked the sauna and the group held their barbecue in front of the sauna and could stare in through the window. That was very unpleasant. I think relaxing in front of a party group is not possible. When I asked them to respect the fact that the place is not a party location, they replied with a tired smile. I didn't want to argue with Thomas either. It was anything but relaxed. I don't need that again!

Ich habe nur gebucht weil in der Beschreibung stand "keine Gruppen, keine Parties". Das neben mir eine Persische Gruppe in ein kleines Baumhaus gebucht hat war ein kleiner Schock. Ich bin sehr geduldig und tolerant aber ich war vom Aufenthalt sehr enttäuscht. Ich hatte die Sauna gebucht und die Gruppe hat ihr Grillfest vor der Sauna gehalten und konnten durchs Fenster reinstarren. Das war mit sehr unangenehm. Ich meine vor einer Party Gruppe zu entspannen ist nicht Möglich. Nach meiner bitte zu respektieren dass der Ort keine Partylocation ist wurde mit einem müden Lächeln beantwortet. Mit Thomas wollte ich auch nicht streiten. Das war alles andere als entspannt. Nochmal brauche ich das nicht!
