Nature house in Giethoorn

Welcome to our charming nature house, located in picturesque Giethoorn, right on the village canal yet in a quiet setting… including air conditioning… It doesn’t get any more romantic than this: the sounds of birds, geese flying overhead, ducks and swans in the canal—and with a little luck and patience, you might even catch a glimpse of a kingfisher darting by across the canal. This authentic cottage offers the ideal combination of tranquility, nature, and comfort. You have a direct view of the canal from both the living room and your bed. Layout: Downstairs is the cozy sitting/dining area and a small kitchen equipped with a Nespresso machine, electric kettle, egg cooker, fridge-freezer, and a Siemens combination microwave with extensive cooking functions. Bathroom with toilet. Hair dryer provided. Upstairs, you’ll find a comfortable double bed. The cottage is heated and cooled by air conditioning and has excellent Wi-Fi. Outside on the porch, there’s a cozy seating area with a view of the sunrise and sunset, the garden, the canal, and the meadows.

The cottage is located in the heart of the “Weerribben-Wieden” National Park. If you’re coming by car, park at P2; from there, it’s a 500-meter walk or a short bike ride. We have a shed with a charging station for your e-bikes. You can also get here by train or bus; the bus stop is 500 meters away. The walking path is easy to navigate, and you’ll cross one bridge. Once you’ve settled in, it’s a 10- to 15-minute walk to the village center, with its cozy restaurants and charming shops. Even in the summer, when Giethoorn can get busy and hectic on some days, you won’t notice any of that here… The area is also known for its beautiful lake region, perfect for water sports enthusiasts, and its many biking and hiking trails. Discover charming towns like Meppel and Steenwijk, and don’t forget the Zuiderzee towns such as Blokzijl and Vollenhove. The forests of Overijssel and Drenthe are about a 15- to 20-minute drive away.
