The nature house is a beautiful white villa with a large park-like garden and can be booked as a vacation home for groups of up to 8pers. Four luxury 2pers rooms with private bathroom, a spacious living room, garden room & kitchen. The spacious layout of the house and our surrounding nature makes this nature house (you) a perfect place for quality time with family or friends. The house is not suitable for young children and parties. In addition, we are also B&B, event, wedding and meeting location and this place is also our home. In consultation, we lovingly provide a regal breakfast, lunch, High Tea, dressed drinks and dinner to a three-course dinner. The monumental building was built in 1859 as a residence for the head director of the prisons in Veenhuizen. Originally the property had no name, but because of its "resemblance to" the stately home was soon called Klein Soestdijk. Heating and Electricity costs on subsequent calculation at then current rates.
Nature and surroundings
Veenhuizen is located in the middle of Drenthe nature, on the border with Friesland. From the nature house you walk within 3 minutes in the forest and you cross through the forest so to the Fochteloërveen, a beautiful nature reserve with many special birds and dragonflies and the like. The Drents Friese Wold and other beautiful nature reserves are also just around the corner. Veenhuizen also has a special history. It was founded 200 years ago as the Colony of Weldadigheid and was taken over after only 25 years by the Interior and later the Justice Department, which hermetically sealed it off until 1983. In the vicinity are a number of good restaurants, Assen is 15 minutes away and Groningen center is half an hour away.
