This Nature House has been around since 1881 and was formerly a farm. The house has been lovingly refurbished in recent years and offers on the ground floor a large hall, a guest toilet and a spacious living kitchen. The modern kitchen is equipped with an induction - and a wood-fired stove. There is also a dishwasher, an oven and a fridge-freezer. There is also a cozy wood stove and open latticework elements. In addition, in the living kitchen is the staircase to the upper floor. Upstairs is a large living room with a wood stove that warms the house just fine. The wood is next to the stoves, ready to use. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a modern bathroom with toilet. A car can be parked under the carport and the driveway has room for 2 more cars. Waste bins are in the carport and there is also room to store bicycles you brought with you.
Nature and surroundings
The Nature House is located in the middle of the Eifel, on the outskirts of the quiet village of Baasem. The Volcanic Eifel and also national park the Nordeifel can be reached within 45 minutes. The large garden has a pond and several fruit trees. A large part of the garden is fenced. Behind the garden adjoins a path where you can also get there by car. There are many hiking and biking trails in the area. The historic village of Kronenburg is within walking distance. Stores and bakeries can be reached within 10 minutes. In the immediate vicinity you can often spot various wild animals, including deer, birds of prey and foxes. There are numerous hiking trails of the Eifelverein that are easily accessible. It is also possible to cycle to Belgium via an old railroad line. Furthermore, the historic villages of Blankenheim and Monchau are also easily accessible.
