The house was thoroughly renovated between 2019 and 2024 and transformed into a tourist accommodation in 2025, aimed at lovers of nature, hiking, cycling, rest, wellness, art and photography. Throughout the house you can admire (and, if desired, purchase) works by owner and art photographer Filip Naudts. All windows offer breathtaking views of the photogenic Spijkerbos, with the panoramic window of the barrel sauna in the garden being no exception. During your stay, you enjoy no less than 4 hours of free access to this sauna! An absolute added value to your stay in the middle of the Flemish Ardennes. Thanks to the code keys, you don't need any keys at all. You get your personal access codes after booking. Do you have bicycles with you? Then they can be safely stored in the veranda. Nature and surroundings
From the house and garden you have a breathtaking view of one of the rare forests in the Flemish Ardennes located on a southern slope every season. The Spijkerbos is about 20 hectares in size. Often forests like this had to give way to fertile farmland or even a vineyard. But in this forest you can fully enjoy monumental beeches, which - if the weather is good - bathe all day in southern sunlight. A visual spectacle for every nature lover. This nature house is surrounded by many hiking and cycling routes, several of which even pass by the house. The Panorama hiking trail for example, from about 16 to 17.5 kilometers, leads hikers via hollow roads and unpaved paths along several highlights of the Flemish Ardennes, including the artist village Kwaremont, the Paterberg, and of course the Spijkerbos itself. The house is located between hiking nodes 26 and 80. Put on your hiking shoes and off you go!
