We are proud to offer this Nature House for overnight stays to our guests. We have carefully converted this old barn into a comfortable vacation home. The east side of the Coach House has full-width windows where you have a beautiful view of the sunrise and the beautiful Drenthe farming landscape. On the ground floor, in addition to the living area, there is a dining area, a kitchen, a shower and a separate toilet. The sleeping area can be found on the spacious mezzanine with 2 single beds. At the Coach House you have a southwest facing terrace at your disposal. We do not serve breakfast at the Coach House.
Nature and surroundings
This Nature House is located between the old and the new Veenhuizen. The road past the Coach House leads you to the Prison Museum, which is well worth a visit. Don't forget to take a ride in the prison bus. In the village you will find a cozy restaurant, a tea garden, a beer brewery, a friterie, a gift store, a cheese dairy and the gardens of benevolence. The surroundings of Veenhuizen offer extensive hiking trails and bicycle routes. Several walking and cycling guides are available. From the Coach House you can immediately start your walk or cycle route. The nature reserve Fochtelooerveen is located 5 cycling minutes from Veenhuizen. In Veenhuizen the Tourist Information Point can be found in the old slaughterhouse.

Pleasant personal atmosphere. No "standard furnishing-magazine interior" which I really liked. Very clean. Delighted with rural location and forest/heath nearby.
Prettige persoonlijke sfeer. Geen ‘standaard inrichtings-tijdschrift interieur’ wat ik heel fijn vond. Zeer schoon. Dolgelukkig met landelijke ligging en bos/hei in de buurt.
Nature, peace & environment:Lovely light. Lots of hiking and biking (with dog) nearby.
