Tucked away in the greenery, it sits right on the crystal-clear Wijde Blik lake and offers a unique view. Surrounding the cottage is a natural garden with terraces. You’re welcome to use the canoes stored in the garden free of charge. The cottage is accessible via the grounds of Jachthaven Ottenhome. Here, you can rent sailboats, sloops, rowboats, and SUPs. Grab a canoe and explore the Kortenhoefse Plassen, or rent a sloop and take a day trip to the Vecht and the other Loosdrecht lakes. Layout: Spacious living room with large sliding doors opening onto the sunny terrace. The open kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, ceramic cooktop, combination microwave, refrigerator with freezer, and a Nespresso machine with a milk frother. From the entryway, you can access a spacious bedroom with a luxurious en suite bathroom, featuring a bathtub, sink, and shower.

This area is part of the Loosdrechtse Plassen, a large, water-rich lowland peat bog region between Amsterdam and Utrecht. It is the deepest and calmest lake. Because of its depth, the lake draws in a lot of seepage water. Thanks to the nutrient-poor, crystal-clear water, unique plants such as stoneworts grow here. In the wide strips of reed beds, rare birds such as the Reed Warbler, Bittern, Reed Bunting, and Goldeneye nest in the spring. You can expect a visit from a pair of swans every day near the cottage. Not only water sports enthusiasts but also hikers and cyclists can enjoy the varied landscape to their heart’s content. Take a walk along the Oppad through reed beds and quaking bogs to the estates and the forest of ‘s Gravenland, visit the many forts, country estates, and picturesque villages along the Vecht River, and cycle across the heath in Hilversum.
