Nature house in Schoonoord

The positives: the cottage was well-cleaned inside and nicely furnished. The outdoor porch and indoor air conditioning are nice.
Areas for improvement: the couch is uncomfortable (you slide off it when sitting in the corner). It’s musty and dark inside (we needed our air freshener). The baseboard in the kitchen fell over several times; there’s no freezer compartment in the fridge (so you can’t freeze ice packs); the fly screen on the exterior door was broken, and the patio was covered in leaves (I swept it myself, which wasn’t a problem, but otherwise we kept tracking leaves inside—and so did the dog). My bed (in the twin room) was more like a child’s bed than one for an adult (super narrow). By pushing the two beds together, I had a little more room to move around. And as mentioned earlier (which we were already aware of), the windows in the bedroom don’t open, which is really a shame when you’re in a setting where you could wake up to the sounds of nature and the birds.

De pluspunten: binnen goed schoongemaakt, prettig ingericht huisje. Veranda buiten en airco binnen is fijn.
Verbeterpunten: de bank zit slecht (je glijdt er vanaf als je in de hoek zit). Het is binnen muffig en donker (onze luchtverfrisser was nodig). De plint in de keuken viel meerdere keren om, geen vriesvak in de koelkast (dus geen koelelementen invriezen), het vliegengordijn van de buitendeur was kapot, de patio lag vol blad (zelf even geveegd en dat was ook geen probleem maar anders liepen we steeds blad mee naar binnen (en de hond ook). Mijn bed (op de 2 x eenpersoonskamer) was eerder een kinderbed dan voor een volwassene (supersmal). Door de 2 bedden tegen elkaar aan te schuiven had ik iets meer beweegruimte. En wat al eerder is gemeld (wisten we dan ook) de ramen in de slaapkamer kunnen niet open en dat is toch echt jammer als je in een omgeving zit waar je heerlijk wakker kan worden van de natuurgeluiden en de vogeltjes.

Beautiful wooded surroundings, with a trail leading into the woods right across from the cottage. Dogs are allowed off-leash, which is a real plus for me! The area around the cottage is also quiet and dark. Lovely! We especially enjoyed the plenty of walking spots where the dog can run free, and the large dog-friendly lake where dogs are allowed and you can swim. That was fantastic. Unfortunately, the bike rental place didn’t have a suitable dog trailer for our dog, so we had to scrap that plan. That was really too bad—especially in Drenthe, which is known for its beautiful cycling routes. We had wonderful walks and swam in natural waters.

Prachtige bosrijke omgeving, pad het bos in direct tegenover het huisje. Hond mag los, is voor mij echt pluspunt! Omgeving huisje ook stil en donker. Heerlijk! We hebben vooral genoten van de voldoende wandel plekken waar de hond los mag en ook het grote hondenmeer waar honden mee naar toe mogen en je kunt zwemmen. Dat was fantastisch. Helaas had de fietsverhuurder geen goede hondenkar voor onze hond, dus dat plan moesten we laten varen. Dat was wel echt jammer. Zeker in Drenthe dat toch bekend staat om de mooie fietsomgeving. We hebben heerlijk gewandeld en gezwommen in natuurwater.

The cottage is wonderfully quiet, there is a beautiful garden and the space inside is great. The double bed was rather a double bed, not ideal for everyone. And as someone already mentioned, very unfortunate that the windows in the bedroom can not open (there is a grille).

Het huisje ligt heerlijk rustig, er is een mooie tuin en de ruimte binnen is groot. Het tweepersoons bed was eerder een twijfelaar, niet voor iedereen ideaal. En zoals iemand al noemde, heel jammer dat de ramen op de slaapkamer niet open kunnen (er zit wel een roostertje in).

Was unfortunately no kitchen linen, and where to go with your garbage,otherwise nothing to complain about.

Was helaas geen keukenlinnen, en waar moet je met je vuilnis heen ,verder niks op aan te merken.

Very nice area right on the forest , definitely want to come back here again

Hele mooie omgeving direct aan het bos , willen hier zeker nog een keer terugkomen
