A romantic cottage, formerly a workman's house for the agricultural workers on the 18th century "Boonackere", already visible on the Ferraris maps. Barely 11 km from the center of Ghent, here you are in rural Landskouter, enjoying views of the rolling countryside at the gateway to the Flemish Ardennes. Equipped with all modern comfort (renovation 2024), you can relax in front of the monumental (electric) fireplace under the authentic oak frame. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom (sink and shower). One bedroom has a hotel box queen size bed, the other bedroom can be offered as queen size bed or with 2 twin beds. In the private garden with terrace and electric barbecue you will enjoy to the fullest. There is underfloor heating and cooling via heat pump (no air conditioning). If you plan to visit the historic cities of Ghent, Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, this is the ideal base.
Nature and surroundings
This authentic and charming house is located on the outskirts of the village, where the open landscape with rolling fields and meadows begins. The house is beautifully integrated into the landscape and has a private enclosed garden with terrace, where it is blissful to relax in the (evening) sun. Alongside the house runs the signposted bunker route. It is the ideal starting point for many cycling and walking tours. For a morning run or an evening walk, just walk out the door. All environment photos in the ad were taken in a 1km radius around the house. On the other hand, you are only 11 km away from Ghent, with its many cultural and historical highlights. By the way, Ghent can be easily visited by train, the train station with a smooth and regular connection is located at 1 km. Landskouter is also the ideal starting point to discover the Flemish Ardennes, where you can buy local products from the producer (ice cream, cheese, vegetables, ...).
