Nature house in Schoorl

The double bed wasn't very comfortable to sleep in.

A nice little house. The yard was a lot smaller than it looked in the photos, though. When we arrived, someone a few houses down was playing really loud music and, I think, drumming along to it. So we hoped we wouldn’t be bothered by that anymore. We were out a lot and didn’t hear it again.

Keurig huisje. De tuin was wel een stuk kleiner dan hij er op de foto’s uitzag. Toen we aankwamen was iemand een paar huizen verder hele harde muziek aan het draaien en volgens mij mee aan het drummen. Dus we hoopten dat we hier verder geen last meer van zouden hebb. We zijn veel weggeweest en hebben het niet meer gehoord.

Now for our complaints: The children’s room is very small (about 4–6 square meters). It doesn’t have two children’s beds, as shown in the photos, but rather a single bed. There isn’t enough space for much more than that. There’s no place to hang up a coat rack. The room also has a rather gloomy atmosphere. We used it to store our suitcases and coats, so it was fine for us.
The bathroom is small. The sink is so tiny that you could only wash your face there. It was okay for a week.
Conclusion: Overall, we can recommend the apartment, but not for more than 2–3 people.

Nun unsere Kritikpunkte: Das Kinderzimmer ist sehr klein (ca. 4-6 qm). Dort stehen auch nicht wie auf den Fotos abgebildet zwei Kinderbetten, sondern ein Einzelbett. Für viel mehr reicht der Platz auch nicht. Keine Möglichkeit Garderobe aufzuhängen. Auch vom Ambiente ist es ein eher düsterer Raum. Wir haben es für unsere Koffer und Garderobe genutzt, daher war es für uns okay.
Das Bad ist klein. Das Waschbecken so winzig, dass man dort nur Katzenwäsche machen konnte. Für eine Woche war es okay.
Fazit: Im Großen und Ganzen können wir die Wohnung empfehlen, allerdings nicht für mehr als 2-3 Personen.

First things first. We had a wonderful time as a couple in Schoorl, and the apartment played a big part in making us feel right at home. There are a few points of criticism, though.
Here are the positives first: The location is very nice. The apartment is located between Bergen and Schoorl on a small side street, so there’s no traffic noise. It’s a great starting point for exploring both towns, the beach, Alkmaar, and the countryside. The living room is spacious and really comfortably furnished. The garden is great…hardly any ambient noise—a lovely spot! The kitchen is small, but it has everything the two of us needed. The bedroom is small and cozy. The double bed is about 160–180 cm wide. There’s a dresser for clothes.

Das Wichtigste vorweg. Wir hatten als Paar eine schöne Zeit in Schoorl und die Wohnung hat auch maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns wohlgefühlt haben. Ein paar Kritikpunkte gibt es allerdings.
Hier die positiven Dinge vorweg: Die Lage ist sehr schön. Die Wohnung liegt zwischen Bergen und Schoorl in einer kleinen Seitenstraße, daher gibt es keinen Verkehrslärm. Es ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt zu den beiden Städten, zum Strand, nach Alkmaar und ins Landesinnere. Das Wohnzimmer ist großzügig und wirklich bequem eingerichtet. Der Garten ist super….kaum Umgebungsgeräusche, ein hübsches Plätzchen! Die Küche ist klein, aber es ist alles vorhanden, was wir zu zweit brauchten. Das Schlafzimmer ist klein und gemütlich. Das Doppelbett ist ca. 160-180 cm groß. Eine Kommode für Garderobe ist vorhanden.

this cottage definitely needs further inspection, the pictures on the site are misleading. in addition, there is a neighbor with a studio who plays his orchestra to his heart's content at times when you want to read a book outside.

dit huisje behoeft zeker nadere inspectie, de foto's op de site zijn misleidend.
bovendien is er een buurman met een studio die naar hartenlust zijn orkest laat horen op momenten dat je buiten een boek wil lezen.

the cottage had not been aired, the cabinets smelled moldy, the shower floor was black with mold. the children's room also a damp smell. the windows to the patio were dirty, a double-glazed window leaking. rang the bell on Sunday morning for kitchen towels, there was only a dirty tea towel hanging there. there was no opening and the phone was not answered either. hence I cleaned the shower myself because we wanted to shower, also did the window.
next to the door of the cottage was a container with bulbs blooming out. there was no card or bottle or something to welcome us. because we are in a fresh mourning process I had no further need for hassle as you will understand. on leaving the owner approached with a list of our findings and indicated no 100 € to pay and asked for compensation. after three days no response, finally emailed myself with 0 on record. no understanding no compassion !

het huisje was niet gelucht, de kasten roken schimmelig, de douchevloer was zwart van de schimmel.
het kinderkamertje ook een vochtgeur. de ramen naar de patio toe waren vies, een dubbelglas raam lek.
op zondagmorgen aangebeld om keukenlinnen, er hing alleen een vieze theedoek. er werd niet opengedaan en ook de telefoon werd niet beantwoord.
vandaar dat ik de douche zelf heb schoongemaakt omdat wij wilden douchen, ook het raam gedaan.
naast de deur van het huisje stond een bak met uitgebloeide bollen. er was geen kaartje of flesje of iets dergelijks om ons te verwelkomen.
omdat wij in een vers rouwproces zitten had ik verder geen behoefte aan gedoe zoals u begrijpen zal.
bij het weggaan de eigenaar aangesproken met een lijstje van onze bevindingen en aangegeven geen 100 € te willen betalen en om compensatie gevraagd. na drie dagen geen reactie, uiteindelijk zelf gemaild met 0 op rekest. geen begrip geen compassie !
