Nature house in Meppen

The cottage was great, the location was excellent, and the garden always had both sun and shade.
One bedroom window has a screen that you can move to the other window. The bed was narrow (140).
Communication with the landlord didn’t go as expected or planned.
In the week before departure, we tried to contact them via NHchat, email, phone, and finally text message.
It wasn’t until 3 days before departure that we received a call back, so we finally knew what the situation was regarding access.
Once there, we contacted them again for information about the Wi-Fi and other issues; additionally, the microwave was broken (the landlord never used the microwave himself and subsequently removed it from the list), and the refrigerator turned out not to have a freezer compartment. which was a problem given the hot weather of 30–40°C.
Normally, an email is sent with information, but that didn’t happen this time due to issues on the landlord’s end. If that email had been sent after all, when it was still possible (before or during our stay), it would have been helpful.

Het huisje was top, locatie uitstekend, tuin had altijd wel zon en schaduw.

Contact met de verhuurder ging niet als verwacht/gepland.
We hebben in de week voor vertrek contact gezocht via NHchat, mail, telefoon en uiteindelijk SMS.
Pas 3 dagen voor vertrek werden we terug gebeld zodat we wisten hoe het zat met de toegang.
Daar terplaatse hebben we weer contact gezocht voor informatie over de wifi en andere vraagstukken, tevens was de magnetron defect (verhuurder gebruikte zelf de magnetron nooit, heeft hem daarna ook uit de lijst gehaald), en de koelkast bleek geen vriesvak te bevatten., dit was minder met het hete weer van 30-40c.
Normaal word een email gestuurd met informatie, dat was deze keer niet gelukt ivm uitdagingen aan de verhuurder kant, als deze mail alsnog was gestuurd, toen het wel mogelijk was (voor of tijdens ons verblijf), dan had dat handig kunnen zijn geweest.

The cottage’s location was great—it was wonderful to go for walks in the woods or swim in the sand pit near Witteveen.
The insects were generally not a bother, except in the Geel Woods around the fishing pond and early and late in the day, when it was apparently feeding time :)

Here’s a tip: while taking a walk through the village, be sure to stop by Bosweg 19 for a delicious ice cream sundae or a nice cup of coffee with apple pie, or visit Oud Aalden to see even more beautiful thatched-roof farmhouses.

De locatie van het huisje was top, heerlijk wandelen in het bos of zwemmen in het zandgat bij Witteveen.
De insecten waren over het algemeen rustig, behalve in het Geel bos rond de visvijver en vroeg en laat op de dag, toen was het blijkbaar etens tijd:)

Een tip, ga tijdens een wandeling door het dorp ook langs Bosweg 19 voor een heerlijke coupe ijs , of een lekkere kop koffie met appel taart, of bezoek oud Aalden voor nog meer mooie rieten kap boerderijen.

We hadden op een foto een houtkachel gezien, waar we ons op hadden verheugd, helaas was die er niet meer.
Verder was het compleet en netjes

Beautiful cottage in the middle of nature, nice and quiet in a drents village.

Mooi huisje midden in de natuur.
Lekker rustig in een drents dorp.
