Since 1987, we have called this beautiful, listed farmhouse our home, which we have renovated and restored ourselves with a great deal of love and commitment. Our three dogs, a flock of chickens and geese as well as several horses and ponies live here with us and are allowed to spend their twilight years here. We would be delighted to welcome you as our guests in our completely renovated vacation apartment on our Sturmhof!
Nature and surroundings
Grefrath is surrounded by greenery in the beautiful Schwalm-Nette Nature Park. With its dense forests, river meadows, heathlands and lakes, it offers perfect opportunities for canoeing, cycling and hiking tours. There are 13 designated hiking trails alone that lead over 70 km through the Niers floodplains. With over 8000 square meters of ice surface (indoor rink, covered outdoor rink, outdoor ring), the Grefrath IceSport & EventPark is one of the largest artificial ice facilities in Europe. Here you will also find the Lower Rhine Open-Air Museum including the Dorenburg, a baroque aristocratic residence from the 14th century. At the end of November/beginning of December there is a "Romantic Christmas Market"; the Folklore Museum presents attractive temporary exhibitions and events; as well as a collection of toys from three centuries.
