This charming and quirky cottage is located on an idyllic vacation park where peace and nature are central. The cottage has only just been refurbished, using reused and second-hand materials where possible, new materials where necessary. ~ Living area with kitchen, dining area, writing table, sitting area, bluetooth speaker ~ One separate bedroom with double bed. Mezzanine with double mattress. ~ Bathroom with walk-in shower, sink and WC. Kitchen: large fridge freezer, 4 burner induction hob, combination microwave. ~ Tea towels, pillows, blankets and mattress cover provided. Towels, pillowcase and comforter cover must be provided by yourself. ~ There are 2 double and 2 single blankets, so you can lie under a blanket in pairs or each separately.
Nature and surroundings
The vacation park is located on the edge of Hoge Kempen National Park. Wake up to the singing birds and with a little luck you will see a squirrel running up the tree. ~ At the entrance to the park there is a tavern with very reasonable prices. There is also a nice playground for children and there are even a few alpacas running around. ~ So you are on foot or by bike immediately in the forest. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes. The Albert Canal is a 10-minute walk away. ~ If you want a little more liveliness, you're 15 minutes by car in Maastricht or Genk. Hasselt is half an hour away, Liege (recommended!) 40 minutes. ~ tips: Barefoot trail Zutendaal - 5 min. ~ Oud-Rekem, awarded "The Most Beautiful Village in Flanders" - 15 min. ~ Alden Biesen, Bilzen - 20 min. ~ antique market Tongeren (Sunday mornings) - 20 min. ~ C-Mine Genk - 20 min. ~ cycling through the moors - 30 min, by bike ~ cycling through the water - 1h, by bike
