Comfortable Waterfront Chalet! Switch up a gear in this unique, relaxing accommodation. With a fantastic view over the Leekstermeer it is a pleasure to stay here 12 months a year in all luxury and comfort. Tastefully decorated and for the colder evenings there is not only central heating but also a wood stove. For the warmer days there is air conditioning. Middle of nature reserve the Onlanden, so lots of walking and cycling in beautiful nature. Close to the city of Groningen and cozy villages Leek, Roderwolde and Roden.
Nature and surroundings
The Matsloot area is a flow-through swamp of the Onlanden. Two gullies (Noordslenk and Midslenk) cut through the area, carrying water from the Peizer and Eelderdiep to the Leekstermeer. Between the deeps lies the water basin, Langmameer. In the area there are two wet groves, the Klein- and Groot Waal. because of this the landscape consists of swamp forest, woods, wooded banks, rough grass and hay meadows, reeds, open water and ditches. In the past this area was one big peat swamp and hardly or not at all accessible. Hence the name Onlanden and was therefore virtually unusable for agricultural use. Now the peat meadow area has been given back to nature. It is becoming, as it were, a real Ónland' again. It is managed by Staatsbosbeheer, Natuurmonumenten, Groninger Landschap and Drents Landschap. Was heerlijk vertoeven daar, alleen het 2 pers.bed was wel erg krap geplaatst in het kamertje, moeilijk in en uit bed komen en lastig op te maken.Voor de rest perfect !!
