The cottage is named after the little lake in the middle of the village. It is the first cottage on the right, just inside the built-up area of Belt-Schutsloot. The cottage is suitable for up to 5 people, it has an open kitchen with dining table and a living room where there is also a single sofa bed. A bedroom with a double bed is located at the front of the cottage. The bedroom has sleeping facilities on both sides, a box bed on one side and a single bed on the other. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, microwave and a refrigerator with freezer. At the back is a canopy with patio chairs, where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the singing birds. A boardwalk through the reed bed leads to public water, where two Canadian canoes are available for free.
Nature and surroundings
Less than 5 km away from the more famous Giethoorn, this cottage is hidden in the greenery. The nature house is easily accessible, located on the public road. The house is an excellent base to explore the National Park "Weerribben and Wieden" by bike or by boat. For shopping, the towns of Meppel and Steenwijk are about 10 km away. Bicycles can be safely stored in the lockable shed. Water and bicycle maps are ready to be explored.
