Welcome to our Nature House, our beautifully located cottage in Giethmen, near Ommen in the beautiful Vecht valley. The cottage is situated on a spacious plot of almost 500 square meters on a corner of the campsite. Here you wake up overlooking the fields of the Overijssel landscape where a branch of the Regge meanders. All quiet and yet plenty to see in terms of flora and fauna.
Nature and surroundings
The Hofhuske is located in an area where there is a lot to do, the Vechtdal of the Overijsselse Vecht. We especially enjoy the peace and nature and make walks and bike rides from home. The Archemerberg is within walking distance (300 meters) and also the nodes for walking and cycling are almost at the door. The famous Pieterpad comes right past the cottage. On the Regge and the Vecht you can also enjoy canoeing. Inside are several (junction) maps and tourist information for you. Super nice time we had. Very quiet place, great environment, very spacious garden which was also nice with the dog. As a woman I found it a bit exciting to sleep there at first, but in the end it was very quiet. Occasionally an acorn falls on the roof, but you get used to that :) Watched and heard many birds, woodpeckers, titmice, pigeons, buzzards, all kinds of things pass by. Even a kingfisher heard from the garden. Many walks, you can walk from the park to the moors, really super. Also made a nice canoe trip from outdoor Ommen, which is nearby.
Superfijne tijd gehad. Hele rustige plek, geweldige omgeving, hele ruime tuin wat ook fijn was met de hond. Als vrouw vond ik het qua sfeer op het parkje eerst een beetje spannend daar te slapen, maar het was uiteindelijk heel rustig. Af en toe valt er een eikel op het dak, maar dat went :) Veel vogels gekeken en gehoord, spechten, meesjes, duiven, buizerds, er komt van alles langs. Zelfs nog een ijsvogel gehoord vanuit de tuin. Veel gewandeld, je loopt vanaf het parkje zo de heide op, echt super. Ook een mooie kanotocht gemaakt vanaf outdoor Ommen, dat is vlakbij.
