At the edge of our spacious yard, in the outskirts of Vriezenveen, you will find our Trekkershut. It is a simple gazebo, for 1 to 2 persons, with a large covered veranda. A private place where peace and privacy are paramount! You have a view of the large pond, where you can often enjoy a beautiful sunset. You also have a private driveway with parking. The cottage has one living/sleeping area, with 2 single beds. A lovely wood stove for chilly days and on the porch there is an opportunity to cook. Coffee and tea are available in the cottage as well as a (filter) coffee maker, kettle, microwave and refrigerator. For your own bathroom you walk outside. On the pictures you can see what you can expect and convince yourself! We welcome you!
Nature and surroundings
Special to Vriezenveen is its peat history. The nature reserve "De Engbertsdijkvenen" with its unique flora and fauna, still has the largest living raised bog in the Netherlands. The Oudheidsmuseum also has a lot to offer. There are beautiful cycling and hiking routes in the area. In high temperatures, take a dip in the large recreational lake nearby, 'Het Lageveld'.
