This vacation home used to be the "buanderie" (wash house) of the estate of painter François Lamoriniere. The building has been renovated and offers an equipped kitchen (combi oven and microwave, induction hob, tub, dishwasher and table-top fridge), a bathroom (tub, walk-in shower and toilet) as well as a dining and sitting area overlooking the garden. On the first floor (old stairs) there is a separate bedroom with 2 single beds (80x200) and 1 double alcove bed (180x200) on the landing. There are some board games available, an fm/am radio with bluetooth function and a TV screen with hdmi cable to connect your own devices/source. Sometimes (weak) internet/wifi, but enough mobile network to keep using your smartphone. Linen to be provided by yourself (kitchen/bath/bed).
Nature and surroundings
The estate is located next to the nature reserve De Zoom - Kalmthoutse Heide, a beautiful hiking area with many routes. The Brabantse Wal is also nearby, with impressive geological features. Other recreational opportunities are : the Arboretum of Kalmthout, the Fort of Stabroek or Ertbrand, the Trenches path in Kapellen, the Ravenhof Castle and its teahouse in Putte, the Bakkersmolen in Wildert, a fun climbing forest in Bergen-op-Zoom, a day in Zeeland is also worthwhile, or a visit to Antwerp, Ghent or Bruges... The cottage is only accessible via dirt roads. Guests have access to the cottage and the garden behind the house, the rest of the estate is private and not open to guests.
