The area surrounding the house is beautiful and full of water birds (ducks, swans and herons), horses, sheep and even a few goats. It lives up to it's name of Waterland. I didn't need a car while staying at the home and could bike 15 minutes to get into Monnickendam (gyms, groceries and nice restaurants) and catch a bus to get into Amsterdam easily. There is even a mini bus that runs from a bus stop a 6 minute walk away. -

Nature, peace & environment:Felt right at home in the cozy house with all the amenities, surrounded by a beautiful garden out back with flowers, chickens and rooster and beautiful views from the living room. Walked and biked through the beautiful Waterland! A great hostess and friendly people in the area. Lots of privacy and all possibilities: retreat in peace and nature, active in and on the lake in front of the door or to the cities in the immediate vicinity.Highly recommended!
