There’s an electric decorative fireplace in the cozy sitting area. With the underfloor heating, this is a wonderfully cozy spot even in winter! The cheerful kitchen is fully equipped for a stay a bit further from civilization, though you can find places to eat within 5 km. Enjoy the sun on the patio with chairs, lounge chairs, and a BBQ. On the dike, there’s a picnic table where you can experience the most beautiful sunset over the waters of the Biesbosch. Nature and surroundings
The nights here are dark—let yourself be amazed by the vast starry sky! Many hiking and biking trails start right from your nature house. At the foot of the dike runs the Steurgat, one of the larger creeks in the Biesbosch; so you can enjoy swimming and boating right from your cottage. We also have a 2-person Canadian canoe available for rent. All sorts of wildlife roam around the cottage: hedgehogs, hares, foxes, and even a pine marten has been spotted. Look around you at the abundance of bird species, listen for the golden oriole, and spot the hen harrier and the iconic white-tailed eagle! Get out and explore the Biesbosch, and admire the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dutch Waterline. Or stroll through the fortified towns of Woudrichem and Heusden. If available, we can bring you fresh seasonal produce from the organic vegetable garden or fresh free-range eggs from our neighboring farm.

The cottage is fantastic—it couldn't be better. It has everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, garden chairs and lounge chairs with cushions, a beach umbrella, plenty of towels, and even a bookshelf with plenty of reading material and a brochure rack with information about the area. We'll definitely be back!
