Located in an old plum orchard, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains at about 600 meters altitude, this cottage lets you experience Romanian rural life. It is located in the small village of Melicesti, Prahova, on a cul-de-sac in a hilly area on closed private property. The cottage is easily accessible via a paved walkway about 120 meters from the public road. The owners live 5 minutes walk away also on the estate. Ideal for 2 persons (upstairs bedroom 15 m2 with double bed 2x90 cm); if necessary 2 extra beds available in the living room. Bathroom with shower (mixer tap), toilet, washbasin, electric heating, washing machine (coin-operated) The spacious living room/kitchen (35 m2) has a wood stove and electric heating, well-equipped kitchen (fridge, electric combi-oven, hob, toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery) sink, hot & cold running water, dining table with chairs, 2 person sofa bed, coffee table, relaxing chairs. Nature and surroundings
Relax outside on the spacious and elevated outdoor terrace (6 x 4 meters), or in the hammock or private water 'tub'. The estate has a very high biodiversity. The flora and fauna enthusiast will discover here the species-rich grassland with an abundance of flowers (including rare orchids) and a chance to meet squirrels, deer, badgers and foxes. The large natural pond is home to frogs, toads, salamanders, and ring snakes. The European Marsh Turtle and Fire Salamander are also residents on the property. The Prahova region is also home to the Brown Bear, and provided proper preparation, short or longer hikes and mountain biking are possible. There are many day trips in the region (Sinaia Peles Castle, Dracula Castle, Busteni mountains, imposing Slanic salt mine, and in winter the ski areas of Sinaia, Busteni, Azuga and Brasov). Everyone is welcome however no special provisions are made for children and people with disabilities.

Wij raden dit huisje aan voor mensen die van natuur en wandelen houden. Het is wel erg handig om een auto te huren.
Nature, peace & environment:We received an extremely friendly welcome. The cottage was comfortable and clean. Everything a person could wish for is there. There is a nice terrace with nice patio chairs, from which you look over the garden which is full of birds. You can take nice walks from the cottage. On top of the mountain you have a beautiful view of the mountain landscape. Along the way you come across stray cows and sheep with bells. The people are very friendly. From Meliçesti you drive in 18 min to Cámpina, where you can take the train both to Bucharest and to Sinaia and Braşov. Highly recommended!

Boven op de berg heb je een prachtig uitzicht over het berglandschap. Onderweg kom je loslopende koeien en schapen met bellen tegen. De mensen zijn heel vriendelijk. Vanuit Meliçesti rijd je in 18 min naar Cámpina, waar je met de trein zowel naar Boekarest als naar Sinaia en Braşov kunt. Een aanrader!
