In Overberg, behind our farmhouse and old sheepfold, we rent out a spacious home. The home has its own entrance, a spacious kitchen with a two-burner stove, an oven, a large dining table, and seating. The ground floor has French doors leading to a private terrace with a picnic table and chairs, offering a view of the meadow. At sunset, deer can often be spotted there. Through a small gate, you can walk across the meadow into the woods, where you can enjoy endless walks. Upstairs, 9 people can stay in one large bedroom. There is also an additional space that can be used flexibly as a bedroom (for 5 people), a yoga room, or a workshop space. Upstairs, there are two bathrooms with toilets. Downstairs, there is another bathroom and a separate toilet. We provide sheep’s wool comforters and pillows. Beds are made up before your arrival. There is a washer and dryer on the landing. Basic kitchen supplies, such as tea and olive oil, are provided. The rental includes kitchen and bath linens.
Nature and surroundings
Our rental property is located at the foot of the Amerongse Berg. The area is very popular with cyclists. Road cyclists can tackle some elevation gain, and there are beautiful trails in the woods for mountain bikers. For hikers, there are several (long) hiking trails starting right from the house. Through the meadows, you’ll reach the Hoge Ginkel, one of the quietest forests in the province of Utrecht. In addition to cycling and hiking, you can go horseback riding, canoeing, and archery in the area. On the other side of the Amerongse Berg, you can visit the picturesque town of Amerongen, home to Amerongen Castle, the tobacco museum, and several restaurants and cafes. Our home is ideal for active people and nature lovers.
