A place where silence, nature and attention embrace you, and where you can fully come home to yourself without distraction. In the part of our rustic farm from 1873, in the quiet Drenthe Ruinerwold, is my acclaimed lodging: 'n cozy lovely warm sleeping/sitting room with a cozy double bed, cozy sitting area and nice desk space. Everything is excl. for one guest, so you can stay in peace. The private shower and toilet are near the lodging. The sauna and summer pool are available for an additional charge. Breakfast is included. Complete your solo retreat and book a surprise dinner on site for €25 per day, prepared with organic ingredients and products from our own vegetable garden and food forest - including dessert and two house bottled drinks. Staying is possible from 4 nights and up, so you can land and recharge optimally. Feel welcome! ✨
Nature and surroundings
On the 7 km long pear orchard in Ruinerwold lies our large residential farm hidden among greenery. You can wander for hours through the beautiful rural surroundings where time has stood still a bit and where you are still greeted by the villagers. Villages such as Havelte, Dwingeloo and Ruinen are within cycling distance. In Ruinerwold itself there is a supermarket, an ancient café, museum farm De Karstenhoeve and some smaller stores. If you want more extensive shopping, the cozy town of Meppel is a good option and the old Hanseatic city of Zwolle is easily reached by train in 15 minutes. At 500m from the farm is a good bus service to Meppel and several villages. In Meppel itself is a train station. For hikers there are several hiking trails from the lodge to walk along beautiful, monumental farms. A little further away is National Park Dwingelderlveld.
