If you want to truly escape from all the hustle and bustle, this is definitely a place not to be missed. On the very edge of the Majela National Park in Abruzzo, The Loft at Mandrelle offers luxury, peace and tranquility. Abruzzo is often referred to as the lungs of Europe for its extensive forests and parks. The Loft is a new property recently constructed using ecological construction methods but sits into the landscape sensitively due to the reusing of materials from the ruin of a previous house located on the site. The property is in an isolated position in the the country within walking distance of the village of Altino. Follow a single track tarmac road to its end, we are then to be found after a 10 minute walk down a farm track. The track is drivable if your car has good ground clearance or we are happy to collect you. We live below the apartment and respect guests' needs for privacy and quietness. But we are happy to offer help and advice if you require it.

The Loft at Mandrelle is surrounded by woodland and fields. It stands on a hill with stunning views across the valleys to the mountains and up to the historic village of Altino. The silence is something all our guests notice. No traffic noise nothing, other than the sound of birds, of which there are many. From Eurasian golden orioles to golden eagles there is a wealth of birdlife. At night in the summer you can often hear nightingales singing. In May evenings our woodland is illuminated by fireflies. There are many walks available at differing levels of demand in the area, either directly from the house or a short drive away. In the summer month of August there are festas in all of the villages. In Altino you can enjoy the Pepper festival with delicious food to tempt your taste buds, wine and music. Or you can take it easy, soaking up the views from the swimming pool, reading a good book or enjoying a bbq with locally produced organic healthy food. Really, you won't want to leave!
