Nature house in Brunnalm - Veitsch, St. Barbara im Mürztal

We were not impressed with this “nature house.” It felt more like an Airbnb or Booking.com listing than a nature house. There was no communication beforehand, and we arrived at an abandoned apartment complex. In the booking confirmation, we found a cryptic description in German explaining how to get into the apartment on the fourth floor. Inside, it was clearly unoccupied for a long time and unclean—there were plenty of silverfish, among other things. Only one set of towels per person for 10 days. You have to provide your own toilet paper, laundry detergent, and dishwasher tablets. There’s no direct access to the outdoors (garden/balcony), which is something we’re used to from other nature houses we’ve stayed in. The bed creaks loudly and is sagging. The couch is uncomfortable. There’s hardly any window covering. For the price, we certainly expected much more. The kitchen and bathroom (including the washing machine) were fine, though. From now on, we’ll think twice about booking through nature house—it’s a real shame.

Wij niet te spreken over dit "natuurhuisje". Het voelde eerder aan als een AirBNB / Booking.com accommodatie in plaats van een Natuurhuisje. Er was geen contact vooraf, en kwamen aan bij een verlaten appartement complex. We vonden in de boekingsbevestiging een cryptische omschrijving in het Duits hoe we binnen konden komen in het appartement op de vierde verdieping. Binnen was het duidelijk lang niet bezocht en niet schoon, onder andere veel zilvervisjes. Per persoon slechts 1 set handdoeken voor 10 dagen. WC papier, wasmiddel, vaatwastabletten moet je zelf regelen. Er is geen mogelijkheid om direct naar buiten (tuin / balkon) te gaan, dit zijn we gewend van eerder bezochte natuurhuisjes. Het bed kraakt enorm en is doorgezakt. De bank is oncomfortabel. Er is nauwelijks raambedekking. Voor de prijs hadden we zeker veel meer verwacht. De keuken en badkamer (+ wasmachine) waren wel naar wens. Wij denken voortaan twee keer na over Natuurhuisje, zeer spijtig.

The area outside the apartment complex itself was beautiful. It's situated in a lovely valley between the mountains. However, you are staying in what is essentially an industrial area.

De omgeving buiten de wijk van het appartement an sich was prachtig. Mooi in een dal tussen de bergen. Je verblijft wel in een soort industrie omgeving.
