This charming bungalow in the village of Wateren has a fairytale forest garden of over 2200 m², wood stove inside and outside, lots of privacy and views of birds and squirrels. Enjoy peace, nature and comfort - you can walk straight into the woods. The attractive bungalow is situated on a quiet forest plot in the Drents-Friese Wold and offers peace and nature from the first moment. The woodland garden feels like a fairy tale, with heather, moss, spruce and rhododendrons. Other cottages are well away, so plenty of privacy. Inside you'll find a sitting area with wood stove, good Matt box-spring beds, eco bedding, a separate TV corner, well-equipped kitchen, bluetooth radio, fiber optic WiFi, games, bird books and mosquito nets. The bathroom has a shower, sink and towel radiator. Outside you will enjoy a relaxation area, dining table, BBQ and a second wood stove.
Nature and surroundings
You stay in the middle of the National Park Drents-Friese Wold, one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. In the garden the nature experience begins with all kinds of birds and regularly a squirrel jumps by. From the cottage you can walk or cycle straight into the woods. Rental bikes can be brought to the house and picked up again: very convenient. There is plenty to do, think of forest walks, moors, the Aekingerzand, the Unesco Colonies of Weldadigheid. picking gardens, children's climbing parks and nature playgrounds and forest walks. Lake Canada is nearby and there are several beautiful watchtowers (De Bosbergtoren, the Seven and the watchtower on the Doldersummerveld). For dogs several off-leash areas and a splash pond. Whether you come for peace, nature, history and/or adventure: this area offers it all.
