Nature house in Lanaken

Cozy and well-decorated with an eye for detail. Everything is provided and well-maintained; there’s no TV, but we didn’t miss it at all. However, it does get dark due to the low ceiling and the trees all around. The beds are comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen. For people with limited mobility, the small/narrow spaces might be a drawback. I was there with my daughter, and we had a wonderful time playing games at the large table in the evenings. There’s a large driveway at the cottage with plenty of space for a car and bikes. After a long, hot drive from the northern Netherlands, we were pleasantly surprised to find refreshing drinks in the fridge.

Gezellig ingericht met oog voor detail. Alles is aanwezig en goed verzorgd, geen TV maar dat misten we totaal niet. Echter wel donker door laag plafond en bomen rondom. Bedden liggen goed. Goed uitgeruste keuken. Voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn zouden de kleine/smalle ruimtes een nadeel kunnen zijn. Ik was er met mijn dochter en we hebben ‘s avonds heerlijk aan de grote tafel spelletjes gespeeld. Grote oprit bij het huisje met genoeg plek voor auto en fietsen. Na een lange en warme rit vanuit noord Nederland werden we aangenaam verrast door verkoelende drankjes in de koelkast.

Plenty of privacy at the cottage, which features a covered patio and a patio along the canal, surrounded by lots of trees and greenery. Lots of birds, ducks, and squirrels. You can hear other guests in the park, but it wasn’t bothersome during our stay. The Rekem/Lanaken thoroughfare is awful and looks very bleak. But the park is green and located on the edge of the Hoge Kempen National Park, with Maastricht just a half-hour bike ride away!

Genoeg privacy om het huisje met overdekt terras en terras aan de slootkant omringd door veel bomen en groen. Veel vogels, eenden, eekhoorntjes. De geluiden van andere gasten op het park zijn aanwezig maar tijdens ons verblijf niet hinderlijk. Doorgaandeweg Rekem/Lanaken is vreselijk en oogt erg kil. Maar het park is groen en gelegen tegen rand van Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen en Maastricht op half uur fietsafstand!

A nice little cottage with all the amenities. Our host had also left coffee and tea out for us, and even a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine! Inside, though, the cottage is quite dark, cold, and a little damp. Our clothes and bedding felt clammy.

Prettig huisje met alles erop en eraan. Onze host had ook koffie en thee klaargezet en zelfs een fles rode en een fles witte wijn! Het huisje zelf is van binnen wel vrij donker, koud en ook een beetje vochtig. Onze kleren en beddengoed was klam.

The cottage was wonderfully peaceful. We did, however, have a lot of trouble with barking dogs. There are a lot of people staying at the park with dogs.

Het huisje was heerlijk rustig. We hebben wel veel overlast gehad van blaffende honden. Op het park verblijven veel mensen met honden.

We would love to come back here again
