Starting in December 2023, the (photo) studio will be available for rent! It’s located in a beautiful, wooded area. If you cross the street diagonally, you’ll enter the Biltse Duinen nature reserve. The location is 1.5 km from the Bilthoven and Den Dolder train stations (free parking), as well as the shops and restaurants found in these two towns. Parents with babies up to 1 year old are also welcome. A travel crib and high chair are provided. The living area features a comfortable sofa and armchair. Bedding and towels are washed with unscented detergent and without fabric softener. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 2-burner induction cooktop, a microwave, and a small oven. Upon request, we’ll set up a fire pit, and you can purchase firewood from us. The studio is located in the backyard, 60 meters from the main house, and is accessible only on foot. Please note that during the Christmas holidays, we only accept bookings for 3 or more consecutive nights.
Nature and surroundings
The studio is located on the edge of the Biltse Duinen nature reserve. It is a forest and shifting sand dune area that borders the Utrechtse Heuvelrug to the north. The area is unique because it features all stages of flora development, from pioneer vegetation to a mature forest. You can also reach the Pyramid of Austerlitz, for example, via beautiful bike paths. And you can reach the stunning heathland near Hilversum via bike paths through the Lage Vuursche forest. If you head west, you can enjoy wonderful walks or bike rides through the polder landscape near Groenekan and Westbroek. We’ve installed bat boxes on the cottage itself, and they were immediately inhabited. You’ll also spot a hedgehog wandering around, grass snakes gliding through the crops, squirrels running through the garden, toads, frogs, and little lizards crawling about, and a fox sneaking through the garden at night. Neighbors have even given up on keeping chickens ;) If you’re looking for more excitement, you can easily reach the cities of Utrecht, Amersfoort, and Apeldoorn by public transit.
