ALSO AVAILABLE FOR 1 NIGHT :) Our retreat cottage (tiny house) is a new (2025) 20-foot, self-built, insulated shipping container (13 m²) with large windows and a glass door to let in plenty of natural light, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Amenities include a nice shower, toilet, kitchen with a refrigerator that has a freezer compartment, a 2-burner induction cooktop, a small oven, an espresso machine, a kettle, and a full set of kitchen utensils. A 160x210 cm bed with a high-quality Auping mattress. Towels, duvets with covers, and pillows are also provided. A cozy armchair for reading a book in the evening, a TV (NPOstart + Netflix), internet, heating, and air conditioning, and a small outdoor terrace with tea herbs you can pick fresh (depending on the season). Our cat, Momo, roams freely around the property and may just stop by for a friendly visit. Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. (until 8:00 p.m.) and check-out is by 11:00 a.m., so you can make the most of your stay.
Nature and surroundings
Our accommodations are booked for mini-retreats, peace, quiet, relaxation, reflection, and everything else you need. We can guide you through this experience. Of course, you’re also welcome to create your own retreat focused on peace, hiking, and relaxation. From the Retreat Cottage, there are many beautiful walks of varying lengths to enjoy. The area is located near the Asseltse Plassen, the Maas River, and the Swalm. Within walking distance (1,000 meters) there’s also an AH supermarket; a little further away (2 km) you’ll find a Lidl and an Aldi. There are also two restaurants with outdoor seating (overlooking the water) just a 500-meter walk away. The center of Roermond, the Old Market Square, and Roerkade—with its many cozy restaurants, the Outlet Center, and a movie theater, among other attractions—is a 25-minute bike ride (3 km) away.
