Nature house in Diepenveen

The cottage has a lot of potential, but it could use a little more attention. The cleaning isn’t up to par. There are large clumps of dust and cobwebs in every corner of the house. Unfortunately, we have someone with a dust mite allergy who got sick after the weekend. The kitchen cabinets are full of crumbs, and the dishes weren’t completely clean either. Some of the glassware is broken, making it sharp and a risk of cutting yourself. It would be helpful if these items were replaced (including the water pitcher).

In addition, two bedrooms and a bathroom are very difficult to access due to the unfortunate placement of the loft ladder leading to the third bedroom. As a result, the ladder blocks access to the bathroom and the second bedroom.

What is nice, though, is that if anything is missing, André will bring it over, and the garden is a lovely spot with the sauna.

All in all, it was fine for two nights. As I said earlier, if a little more attention were paid to maintaining the cottage, it has a lot of potential.

Het huisje heeft heel veel potentie, maar er mag wat meer aandacht in gestoken worden. De schoonmaak is niet goed. In elke hoek van het huis hangen grote stof/spinnenraggen. We hebben helaas iemand met huisstofmijtallergie die ziek geworden is na het weekend. De keukenkastjes hebben veel kruimels erin en het servies was ook niet helemaal schoon. Sommig glaswerk is kapot waardoor het scherp is en je je eraan open haalt. Het zou handig zijn als dit wordt vervangen (o.a. waterkan).

Daarnaast zijn 2 kamers en een toilet erg onhandig te bereiken door de ongelukkige plek van de vlizotrap naar de 3e slaapkamer. De trap blokkeert daardoor de toilet en de 2e slaapkamer.

Wat wel fijn is dat als er iets mist André dit komt brengen en de tuin is een fijne plek met de sauna.

Al met al was het prima voor 2 nachten. Zoals ik eerder zei, als er iets meer aandacht in het onderhoud van het huisje wordt gestoken heeft het erg veel potentie.

The location is beautiful. It’s surrounded by nature, and you can go for walks, bike rides, or mountain biking right from the house. It’s very close to Deventer if you want to check out the hustle and bustle, and near a small castle. There are many places around the house where you can buy local products from farmers.

It’s close to Hotel Gaia—if there’s a party at the hotel, you’ll definitely hear it from the cottage.

De ligging is prachtig. In de natuur en je kan zo wandelen, fietsen, mountainbiken vanuit het huis. Erg dicht bij Deventer als je wel reuring wil opzoeken en dicht bij een kasteeltje. Op veel plekken rondom het huis kan je bij lokale boeren streekproducten kopen.

Dichtbij hotel Gaia, als het hotel een feestje heeft hoor je dit wel in het huisje.

Beautiful house with a huge garden. Very nicely finished inside, with a top-notch sound system. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the sauna because it was already very hot outside. There is a hot tub, but it isn't working.

Mooi huis met een enorme tuin. Erg fraai afgewerkt van binnen, met erg goede muziekinstallatie. Sauna helaas niet kunnen gebruiken want het was buiten al erg warm. Jacuzzi staat er wel, maar is niet in werking.

It was very quiet outside, with just a few sounds coming from the road. The garden was very large, and the surrounding area was densely wooded.

Het was erg rustig buiten wat geluiden van de weg om. De tuin was erg groot en de omgeving was zeer bosrijk.

The house isn't ideal for 6 people. The upper floor is accessed via a loft ladder, which blocks access to the bathroom and bedroom downstairs. That's a shame. But otherwise, it's a fantastic place to stay for up to 4 people.

Huis niet ideaal voor 6 personen. De bovenverdieping is te bereiken via vlizotrap, die de toegang tot toilet en slaapkamer beneden blokkeert. Dat is jammer. Maar verder een fantastisch verblijf voor max 4 perdonen
