Nature house in Diepenveen

A wonderfully luxurious cottage, fully equipped with all amenities, including a sauna. Tastefully decorated, beautiful garden. The only minor issue was a leaky skylight. The cottage is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. We had no problems with the loft ladder. Yes, it blocks the toilet when it’s lowered. But there’s also a toilet in the bathroom. So it wasn’t a problem for us...

Heerlijk luxe huisje, van alle gemakken voorzien inclusief sauna. Sfeervol ingericht, prachtige tuin. Enige puntje was lekkende dakraam. Het huisje is aan de prijs, maar dan heb je wel wat. Wij hadden geen problemen met de vlizotrap. Ja, die blokkeert de wc als 'ie naar beneden is. Maar er is een ook toilet in de badkamer. Dus voor ons geen probleem..

The house is located in a (small) forest near the expansive landscape of the IJssel. Nearby is Hotel Gaia, which we really enjoyed visiting for a cup of coffee. This does mean there are a lot of hikers and visitors in the area. Still, it’s quiet, and the surroundings are beautiful.

Het huis staat in een (klein) bos met vlakbij het weidse landschap van de IJssel. Vlakbij ligt hotel Gaia, wat wij heel leuk vonden om een kopje koffie te gaan drinken. Het zorgt er wel voor dat er veel wandelaars / bezoekers zijn in het gebied zijn. Maar alsnog is het rustig en de omgeving is prachtig.

Nice house, but it does need some work! The floor under the bed in the bedroom next to the bathroom was downright filthy at the head of the bed. The stairs to the third bedroom were a pull-down ladder, which wasn’t mentioned as such in the description. This was inconvenient downstairs but downright dangerous upstairs. Upstairs, there was no guardrail around the stairwell, which made it dangerous, especially at night. Two storage compartments were missing from the refrigerator door, which was very inconvenient with six people staying there. The energy bill was unclear. The final amount was unbelievably high—a real letdown after a fun weekend.

Landlord’s response:
The house must be thoroughly clean; that’s something I’ll focus on.
However, the third bedroom is accessible via a staircase, as described; I’ll replace it with a loft ladder.
Furthermore, the energy bill is calculated retroactively based on usage; this is stated along with the rates, and the calculation is included with the final bill. Photos of the meter readings are available, so the “unbelievably high” amount can easily be substantiated.

Mooi huis maar heeft wel wat aandacht nodig! Vloer onder bed in slaapkamer naast badkamer was bij hoofdeind ronduit smerig. Trap naar derde slaapkamer was vlizotrap, niet als zodanig vermeld in omschrijving. Dit was beneden onhandig maar boven gewoon gevaarlijk. Boven was rond trapgat geen afscherming waardoor het, vooral 's nachts, gevaarlijk was. Van koelkastdeur ontbraken twee opbergvakjes, zeer onhandig bij 6-persoons bezetting. Energieafrekening niet inzichtelijk. Eindbedrag was ongeloofwaardig hoog, een kater na een gezellig weekend.

Reactie van verhuurder:
Het huis moet goed schoon zijn, daar ligt dus een aandachtspunt voor mij.
Maar de 3e slaapkamer is te bereiken d.m.v een trap, dat staat omschreven, ik zal het nog aanpassen naar een vlizo trap.
Verder is de energierekening achteraf op basis van verbruik, dit staat vermeld incl. de tarieven en de berekening staat bij de eindafrekening, en foto's van de standen zijn te verkrijgen, dus het ongeloofwaardige kan gewoon onderbouwd worden.
