Nature house in São Vicente

Casa do Lanço is part of a 25,000m2 vineyard estate in a transition zone between the Laurissilva forest and the farmland of São Vicente. The terraced vineyards are home to the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which produce the famous Madeira wine. The property is part of a group of houses where you'll find several gardens with centuries-old trees, including a large oak tree that is over 250 years old. According to several historians, this oak was one of the first trees planted on Madeira Island. Several endemic Laurissilva species such as tis, vinháticos, barbusanos and loureiros can be found on the property. The house has a simple, country and functional décor, living up to its history but with all the comforts for guests. The property has three bedrooms, two with double beds, one with two single beds and all with en-suite bathrooms. The spacious living room has a fireplace.

The house is located in the north of the island, more precisely in Rosário, a parish in the municipality of São Vicente. As it is in a more isolated area, there are no shops in the vicinity of the property. A ten-minute drive from the town of São Vicente, you'll find local shops, restaurants, a supermarket and a pharmacy. Near the house you have access to several trails and levadas, where you can take the opportunity to walk around and explore our fantastic island on foot. The city of Funchal is a 45-minute drive away.
