This nature house is a large detached house with private pool on one hectare of land surrounded by terraces with grass, olive trees and more than 40 fruit trees. The house is located in central Portugal on the outskirts of a small authentic village with about 800 inhabitants. The house stands on a hill with a beautiful view of the mountains and every evening a fantastic sunset. The house is self-sufficient with its own well and heatpipes on the roof for heating the water. On cold days the house is heated by the wood stove in the living room which also heats the radiators.The interior of the house is modern, bright and spacious. It has a large living room with open kitchen, 4 (double) bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and separate toilet. The veranda runs the entire length of the house and keeps the house nice and cool in the summer. Behind the house is an additional terrace.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located between coast and mountains. Just an hour's drive to the west lies the Atlantic coast with beautiful beaches where you can visit coastal villages and eat delicious fish. An hour to the east is the largest nature reserve in Portugal, the Serra Estela, where you can make beautiful walks through forests, along waterfalls and through authentic villages. The highest point is at 2000 m. Nearby are also the university city of Coimbra (45 min), the inspiration for Harry Potter books and really worth a visit and Viseu (45 min) The immediate surroundings are rustic, authentic with lots of nature and small villages. There is still little tourism so it is nice and quiet. You can enjoy hiking and eating local food in the small local restaurants and wine tasting in one of the famous wineries of the region (Dão) or just enjoy peace and quiet and nature around the house.
