This nature house is a large detached house with private pool on one hectare of land surrounded by terraces with grass, olive trees and more than 40 fruit trees. The house is located in central Portugal on the outskirts of a small authentic village with about 800 inhabitants. It stands on a hill with a beautiful view of the mountains and every evening a fantastic sunset. Quinta Levegada is self-sufficient with its own well and heatpipes on the roof for heating the water. On cold days the house is heated by the wood stove in the living room which also heats the radiators.The interior of the house is modern, bright and spacious. It has a large living room with open kitchen, 4 (double) bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and separate toilet. The veranda runs the entire length of the house and keeps the house nice and cool in the summer. Behind the house is an additional terrace. The basic rental is based on 4 persons, 2 bedrooms.
Nature and surroundings
This nature house is located between coast and mountains. About an hour's drive to the west lies the Atlantic coast with beautiful beaches where you can visit coastal villages and eat delicious fish. Half an hour to the east you drive into the largest nature reserve in Portugal, the Serra da Estela, where you can make spectacular walks through forests, along waterfalls and through authentic villages or swim in natural pools. The highest point is at 2000 m. Close by are also the university city of Coimbra (45 min), the inspiration for Harry Potter books and really worth a visit and Viseu (45 min) The immediate surroundings are rustic, authentic with lots of nature and small villages. There is still little tourism so it is nice and quiet. You can enjoy hiking and eating local food in the small local restaurants and wine tasting in one of the famous wineries of the region (Dão) or just enjoy peace and quiet and nature around the house.

What a Quinta—the space inside is beyond description. Everything is so spacious, fresh, and clean. The front terrace is simply magnificent. The sunset is so beautiful—it just leaves you speechless. The pool is—if I could, I’d give it a 20/10 ;-)—truly fantastic! We picked fruit from the garden, and it tastes so much better than back home in Belgium. Communicating with the owners went very smoothly, too.
We’ll definitely be back and plan to explore even more! One thing you absolutely must do is go stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) on the Mondego with Matthew and Lindsey from Just Drift. That was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed.Wat een Quinta, de ruimte binnen is met geen woorden te beschrijven. Alles zo ruim, fris en proper. Het terras aan de voorzijde is magnifiek gewoon. Zonsondergang is zo prachtig, je wordt er gewoon heel stil van. Zwembad is, als ik kon gaf ik een 20/10 ;-) echt fantastisch! We hebben fruit geplukt uit de tuin en dat smaakt echt zoveel beter als bij ons in België. Het contact met de eigenaars verliep ook zeer vlot.
Wij komen zeker terug en gaan nog meer op verkenning uit! Wat je zeker moet doen is gaan SUPPEN op de Mondego bij Matthew en Lindsey van Just Drift. Dat was een ervaring waar ik zo van genoten heb.Wow, a beautiful location with a magnificent view. The village itself is a truly traditional little village, with very small, narrow streets, tiny houses, and the residents’ gardens right next to the village. Just like it used to be. Beautiful nature—we went on lots of hikes, and the Mondego River at the foot of the mountain (we literally walked down, past the back of the Quinta, so we could admire the Quinta from the top of the mountain) was truly the best.
Wauw, prachtige ligging met een magnifiek uitzicht. Het dorpje zelf is echt een traditioneel dorpje, zeer kleine en smalle straatjes, kleine huisjes en de tuintjes van de inwoners liggen net naast het dorpje. Echt zoals het vroeger was. Prachtige natuur, zijn heel veel gaan wandelen en de Mondego rivier beneden aan de berg ( wij zijn gewoon letterlijk naar beneden gewandeld, langs achter de Quinta en zo konden we de Quinta van bovenop de berg bewonderen ) was echt de max.
