Are you looking for peace and quiet? With unobstructed views over the water of the Hendriksveen? Rustling leaves, rippling water, twittering water birds and nothing else at all! Full silence! That's what we like to share with you! Because that is what a stay at the Hendriksveen offers you. A place where you automatically surrender to nature. Actually, everything has been said now, but know that there is a lovely covered terrace, your own raft and shared canoe. Also enjoy the cottage with its natural and artistic design. Building it was a delightful exploration that gave the managers, also the designers and builders, a lot of energy. The semi-off-grid cottage offers many comforts: a fully equipped kitchenette with cold water, dining table, large sofa, bedroom with two twin beds (convertible into a double bed), and a composting toilet. In the nearby building there is a private toilet and private shower. In the shared kitchen with ovens you can cook extensively.
Nature and surroundings
There are 2 more small waterfront cottages located on the property. All with great privacy. We receive only adults, without dogs. You connect with the tranquility on the property which is sustainably managed. For example, the wastewater there is broken down through a helophyte filter. When the sand excavation was completed in the last century, nature was allowed to take its course. Exceptional ferns, sundew and peat mosses grow in the lower parts of the site. Be sure to bring your binoculars! You can take a lovely walk across the grounds, there is a so-called viewing path and a labyrinth. There are several places to sit, watch, read or meditate. You can swim in the lake (at your own risk), but fishing is not allowed. The Hendriksveen is located directly on many cycling and hiking trails through forest and heathland. The villages Odoorn and Schoonoord are nearby. And do not forget the many dolmens in the vicinity. See further on our website Hendriksveen.
