This cottage is located at the back of the grounds of an old farmhouse dating from 1830. It offers plenty of privacy. You have a beautiful view across the meadows toward the Maas River. The house was built using eco-friendly methods (timber-frame construction, reused materials) and furnished with vintage items. The bedroom is located on the upper floor. There is a sofa bed in the living room. There is a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with a Nespresso machine, induction cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and freezer. The house is gas-free and energy-neutral. Bed linens, hand towels, and bath towels are provided. We love beautiful vintage items, including those in our guesthouse. We enjoy working in our organic vegetable and fruit garden, which our guests are also welcome to use for cooking. We’ve planted standard fruit trees. There’s an extensive library featuring books on the local area, cycling, gardening, and cooking, among other topics. Heusden is nearby. A bus runs every hour to 's-Hertogenbosch.
Nature and surroundings
The country house is located in the hamlet of Luttelherpt, which originally formed a municipality together with Hedikhuizen and Bern (now on the other side of the Meuse). Following a previous merger with Herpt, it is now part of the municipality of Heusden. Nearby are Heusden (a beautiful fortified town with roots in the Middle Ages) and 's-Hertogenbosch. From the house, you can look out over the meadows toward the Meuse River. Enjoy the beautiful skies. There’s a beautiful hiking area across the river, accessible via the ferry around the corner to Nederhemert Zuid. The large drifting sand dunes—the Drunense and Loonse Duinen—are also nearby. You’ll be staying right in the heart of the river landscape. Zaltbommel, Loevestein Castle (surrounded by a beautiful bird sanctuary), and Woudrichem are all easily accessible by bike from Herpt. The Biesbosch is just a little further away. All amenities can be found in Heusden, Vlijmen, or Drunen, and when it comes to culture, 's-Hertogenbosch isn’t called the cultural capital of the South for nothing.

A super-cute little cottage built by Jan and his family themselves. Beautifully decorated with retro and vintage furniture. A wonderful shower and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The upstairs is quite tiny, but it has a comfortable double bed and a single bed. And that’s all you need—just a place to sleep. The rest of the cottage is nice and spacious with an open layout.
We found it to be a really nice spot to spend a few days.
A very quiet little village, and the cottage is set back a bit from the road. Right next to the cottage was a vegetable garden that we were welcome to use. In the evenings, it was really fun to watch the bat flying in circles around the cottage!
Several beautiful nature areas are within biking distance.
At night, we were bothered a bit by cars driving by, but earplugs quickly solved that problem.
This text is automatically translated. -

Built by the owner himself using reclaimed materials. Now that’s something we appreciate. Inside, it’s bright and spacious and fully equipped. Furnished with vintage pieces, with the occasional designer item. Plenty of interesting books and magazines about the area, gardening, and more.
This cottage is in a beautiful location. The main village road can get a bit busy, but there’s plenty of distance between the cottage and the road. It feels open and rural, partly thanks to the vegetable garden and the meadows surrounding it. Centrally located for exploring both nature and culture. Everything is within biking distance, so we were able to make the most of our time: we did, saw, and experienced a lot.

Jan is a great host. In touch every now and then, asks if everything is OK and brought fresh asparagus, which are now finished and were delicious.
Wonderful cottage! Atmospheric, cozy and fully equipped. In very quiet place and yet the fun things are very easily accessible. So we bike to Den Bosch to sail under the city and see the St Jans and eat good food. Walking to fortified town Heusden. Took the ferry across Bern-Herpt.
Prachtig huisje!
