Nature house in Woerdense Verlaat

A weekend getaway in the countryside? Come to the farm, where cuddling with the animals is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. This nature house is nestled in the middle of a meadow, 200 meters from the public road, near the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, and just 10 km from Woerden. Experience the great outdoors with canoes and rowboats right by the haystack cabin and your own fishing pier. During construction, bio-based materials were chosen whenever possible. The walls are partially insulated with grass insulation and wool from our own sheep. The floors are made of recycled concrete mixed with elephant grass, resulting in an 85% reduction in CO₂ emissions. Solar water heaters on the roof provide hot water and comfortable underfloor heating. Wastewater is naturally purified through a helophyte filter. Each cabin has its own shower and a dry composting toilet. There is also a kitchenette with a refrigerator and a stovetop. There is a picnic table in front of the haystack cabin. For children, there are games, a sandbox, a swing, and a trampoline.

Unwind on the waterfront in the beautiful surroundings of Woerdense Verlaat. Just a 30-minute drive from Gouda and Utrecht. Near the Nieuwkoopse Plassen area, the Meije River, and the Vinkeveense Plassen. Take an electric boat, canoe, or rowboat and explore nature on the water. These nature houses are located in a meadow (200 m from the public road) next to the farm, on a nature-friendly riverside. From your nature house, you can enjoy a meal at the picnic table while taking in the view of the meadow where sheep graze. There’s a fishing pier in front of the haystack hut, and a short walk through the meadow will take you to the pier on the Grecht. The waterway between Woerden and Woerdense Verlaat Within walking distance is De Haeck Nature Reserve, perfect for a beautiful walk. The Westveensepolder route is also highly recommended, and be sure to visit the Westveense Molen. Follow the Groene Hartpad or the Marskramerpad, and the many bike routes that pass through and along Woerdense Verlaat. Visit the market in Woerden or Gouda.
