Quiet workplace or short vacation in nature. On the waterfront are 4 cottages, 200 m from the public road in the meadow made of biobased building materials. Partial grass insulation and wool from our own sheep was used for the walls. The floors are made of recycled concrete with elephant grass. This saves 85% CO2 emissions. Solar water heaters on the roof provide hot water and floor heating! Waste water is treated in a helophyte filter. All cabins are equipped with a compost toilet and private shower. In order to reach the cabins with dry feet even when the weather is less beautiful , a path has been constructed with slatted floors. Experience the tranquility of nature and the countryside. In front of the haystack hut is your picnic table. Children's puzzles, games and trampoline available. By appointment a tour of the farm and play in the sandbox or use the canoes and rowboats.NEW: WIFI available! Marshmallows roasting by the fire pit.
Nature and surroundings
Within walking distance is Nature Reserve De Haeck, for beautiful walks, also recommended during the Christmas vacations. Near Nieuwkoop lakes area, river Meije, Vinkeveense Plassen. Rent a whisper boat or canoe and discover how beautiful nature is on the water. These nature houses are located in the meadow on a nature-friendly bank where animals rustle among the reeds. From your nature house (200 m from the public road) you can enjoy the countryside and the farm where the sheep graze. Fishing pier in front of the haystack hut and while walking through the meadow you reach the jetty on the Grecht. The water between Woerden and Woerdense Verlaat. Discover the Westveensepolder route through Woerdense Verlaat and pay a visit to the Westveense Molen (Westveen windmill). There are also many bicycle routes through and past Woerdense Verlaat. Check out Groene Hart Experience and follow the Vlinder Fladder route. Located in the Groene Hart, between Amsterdam, Utrecht and The Hague.
