We have a unique accommodation, the self-built Finnish Kota in picturesque Wadway. Located between the meadows, in the middle of Westfriesland. Near the Ijsselmeer with VOC city Hoorn and other Zuiderzee towns. The bustling Amsterdam and the North Holland coast are a half hour drive as well as the Cheese City Alkmaar. A unique sleeping experience in a Finnish Kota, with a beautiful garden and a refreshing pool (not heated). There is a sofa bed for a 3rd person in the living room. Furthermore, the kota is fully equipped with a functional kitchen, induction stove, microwave oven, coffee and tea making facilities. There is a private bathroom with shower in the back of the kota.
Nature and surroundings
Our Kota is free behind our house overlooking our beautiful garden. You can also use our wood-fired sauna and hot tub (in consultation, for a fee).Please bring your own slippers and towels.We live in the countryside with many North Holland farmhouses.There are beautiful bicycle routes through picturesque villages. The city beach Hoorn is located on the Ijselmeer 10 minutes away by car from our vacation home. By bike it is half an hour. 2 Bikes are free to use. A recommendation is to take the steam streetcar from Hoorn to Medemblik, there you can continue by steamboat across the Ijselmeer to Enkhuizen and by train back to Hoorn. The Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen is also worth a visit! Within half an hour you are from our Kota in the beautiful Schoorl on the North Sea. There you can enjoy cycling or walking through the woods and dunes. There is also a mountain bike track, the largest and most beautiful in the Netherlands. Bikes are plentiful there for rent.
