Casetta Spoleke is a place for relax and sport in the nature, among the “small dolomites” of the Veneto pre-alps and close to the thermal village of Recoaro. The house is part of an ancient hamlet along the forest road. It has been completely renovated respecting its original wood and stones structure. It is composed by an entrance / living, kitchen, one double-bed room (plus foldable baby cot) and one room with two single beds (that can be joined), plus the bathroom. A studio room for relax or telework can also be supplied with an inflatable double-bed. Heating and hot water is by wood and pellet stoves (electric boiler), power is by a renewable sources provider. Water is from the original local source catchment then filtered and purified. The house can be reached along the dirt road on foot if you travel light (appr. 12 min. from the upper contrada) or in few minutes by car (small 4x4 needed). Or the house-managers can take you by car for the arrival and leaving (recommended).
Nature and surroundings
Recoaro (20min walk) is renowned for its mineral water, that can still be tasted in the old thermal compound (currently under renovation) or at the external springs. Noble families from all Europe were visiting the therms and its beautiful “emerald valley”. The art-cities of Vicenza and Verona (with airport) are at about 1h15m by car. Venice (with airport) at about 2h. Train and bus transport is also available. Immerse yourself in this peaceful nature, choosing from reading a book in front of the wood fire or relax in the outside patio, or telework. Then hike, bike or climb, or even do paragliding and horse riding... plus local food and wine tasting of course! Trails just from the house door will lead you around the valley to hidden magic spots and up to the peaks of the small dolomites, including easy walks or via-ferrata, historical paths of WW1, or the memorial 'Tibetan' bridge. Kids will love exploring around, the water streams, the wild and farm animals, the accessible mountains.

Jokke July 24, 2024 General rating:The charming cottage is only accessible on foot which makes it wonderfully quiet. Due to the beautiful weather we lived there mostly outside, but we would also like to stay there in other seasons. The beds are comfortable. Also the other rooms are not only practical but also have a soul.
Het charmante huisje is enkel te voet bereikbaar waardoor het er heerlijk rustig is. Door het mooie weer leefden we er vooral buiten, maar ook in andere seizoenen zouden we er graag verblijven. De bedden zijn alvast comfortabel. Ook de andere ruimtes zijn niet enkel praktisch ingericht maar hebben ook een ziel.
Nature, peace & environment:The cottage is in a very beautiful and quiet region. We made beautiful walks in the mountains, had delicious food and drinks, discovered the beautiful city of Vicenza and enjoyed the peace and quiet at the cottage. Our dog also loved it there.

Falls man, wie wir, im Spätherbst kommt: Geheizt wird mit zwei Holzöfen im Erdgeschoss, in denen man sogar Pizza backen kann, und deren Abwärme durch die anderen Räume geleitet wird. Für den Fall, dass das nicht ausreicht, gibt es elektrische Heizdecken in den Zimmern und im Arbeits-/Wohnzimmer unter dem Dach eine zusätzliche Pelletheizung.
Nature, peace & environment:Wir waren mit zwei Kindern in Casetta Spoleke. Wirklich ein idealer Ort, um
dem Alltagsstress für einige Tage zu entkommen! Das Haus ist Teil einer alten Contrada, einer Gruppe von ca. 5 Berghäusern, die nur über eine holprige Strasse aus dem Dorf Recoaro erreichbar ist (nicht mit jedem Auto befahrbar, aber die sehr hilfsbereiten Verwalter transportieren das Gepäck). Obwohl Recoaro in 10 min zu Fuß erreichbar ist, lebt man mitten in der Natur, noch dazu mit herrlichem Blick auf die "kleinen Dolomiten". Ebenfalls in 10 min, aber bergauf, erreicht man ein Restaurant mit schönem Ausblick und exzellentem Eis- und Bruschettaangebot. -

You can feel that it is a really well-loved house and it's not a 'tourist' house: it's a beautiful real house, that was beautiful for us! In our mood, it felt like 'home'. The stoves are beautiful and fully functional, we found the wood (already cut big and small) and the paper for lighting the fire already prepared for us, very practical. Relaxed, cosy and rustic atmosphere. Perfect and much-appreciated restaurant tips: you can eat very well in this area.
Nature, peace & environment:From the 'casetta' you can set off on walks of all types and difficulty. We, two adults with a dog, one day walked a path completely in the middle of woods/nature from the 'casetta' to the Campogrosso refuge, at 1457 metres. In total, about 6 hours of walking there and back, very beautiful, very solitary. Another day we drove to the 'Big Trees Trail' and did it on foot (much less empty of people, but beautiful).
