Nature house in Ferro

The characteristic 6 person detached cottage is located on an estate of 4 hectares with 25 species of trees. Free views of the mountains of the Serra de Estrela (the highest mountain range in Portugal). The owner, a Dutch couple, shares the estate (not the cottage)with the guests, where everyone enjoys maximum privacy. The large pool of 5 by 12 meters was recently renovated and one can use it to cool off or swim laps. There is a large vegetable garden that offers abundant vegetables, perhaps also for guests! The cottage is largely built with beautiful granite stones, which is typical of the Cova de Beira region, has 2 bathrooms with shower and toilet, 3 bedrooms, open kitchen and a living room with fireplace. It is fully equipped including dishwasher, large fridge / freezer, 4 burner stove, washing machine. On the outside terrace you can enjoy all the scenery or eat / drink during a balmy day / evening. There is Wifi and TV.

The cottage is located in central Portugal at the village of Ferro near Covilha and very easily accessible roads. The city of Covilha + Estrela is 8 km away and from Lisbon there is a beautiful direct train connection ( partly along the Tagus River) of about 3.5 hours. For about 10 euros one way if you book in time. We can pick up guests from Covilha station by car if necessary. We have 2 E-MTB bikes and a regular electric bike that you can rent. The area is very suitable for hiking and cycling. Very beautiful nature and beautiful views. The river Zezere meanders through the landscape and has several river beaches. Hiking trails in the Serra de Estrela are plentiful. We have hiking books in the cottage and if you want to cycle we can give tips. The path of the Camino Santiago de Compostela runs near our house and is certainly a beautiful journey to walk a piece of. The environment is authentic Portugal, with beautiful villages and lots of natural beauty.
