Nature house in Maashees

One small note. One of us is disabled. She would have liked handles on the toilet and douce.

Een kleine opmerking. Een van ons is invalide. Zij had handgrepen op de wc en douce fijn gevonden.

Lovely place overlooking the Meuse River. Good to do with 5 adults.

Heerlijke plek met uitzicht op de Maas. Goed te doen met 5 volwassenen.

Wonderfully quiet (though in the late season). Beautiful cottage, nice close to the Meuse River. Beautiful surroundings for cycling.

Heerlijk rustig (wel in het naseizoen). Prachtig huisje, mooi vlak bij de Maas. Mooie omgeving voor fietsen.

The cottage is much more spacious than it looks in the pictures. Even on a rainy day there is enough space inside for 6 people, even if 3 of them are a gang of enthusiastic children ;) We luckily only had one such day, but actually it didn't bother us because thanks to the wood stove you immediately make it cozy inside. The kitchen is very well equipped. From the living room you can watch the boats passing by, which was an attraction in itself, especially for our children (but also for the adults a real pleasure). For the children there was a nice playground where they were immediately provided by the hostess with a large box of toys for the sandbox. We were very warmly welcomed by the hostess and at Easter it even appeared that the Easter Bunny had left something behind for the children :) A 20min drive away you reach Irrland (D) a kind of amusement park / giant playground for -12 year olds. For our children this was the icing on the cake of this top vacation!

Het huisje is veel ruimer dan het op de foto's lijkt. Zelfs op een regenachtige dag is er genoeg ruimte binnen voor 6 personen, zelfs als 3 daarvan een bende enthousiaste kinderen zijn ;) Wij hebben gelukkig maar één zo'n dag gehad, maar eigenlijk stoorde dat niet want dankzij de houtkachel maak je het meteen gezellig binnen. De keuken is heel goed uitgerust. Vanuit de living kan je heerlijk naar de voorbijvarende boten kijken, dit was vooral voor onze kinderen een attractie op zich (maar ook voor de volwassenen een waar genot). Nog voor de kinderen was er een leuke speeltuin waar ze door de gastvrouw meteen voorzien werden van een grote bak speelgoed voor in de zandbak.

Wij werden erg warm onthaald door de gastvrouw en op Pasen bleek zelfs dat de paashaas iets had achtergelate voor de kinderen :)

Op 20min rijden bereik je Irrland (D) een soort attractiepark/reuzenspeeltuin voor -12 jarigen. Dit was voor onze kinderen de kers op de taart van deze topvakantie!

The cottage is on the edge of a cozy campsite and offers a beautiful view of the Meuse River. You really are in the middle of the forest. We spotted hares, pheasants, squirrels, herons and Canada geese within walking distance of the cottage. You reach the visitor center of the Maasduinen after a short drive where we did the children's quest around the lake (you pay €2 for the educational card).

Het huisje staat aan de rand van een gezellige camping en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de Maas. Je zit echt middenin het bos. Wij hebben hazen, fazanten, eekhoorns, reigers en Canadese ganzen gespot op wandelafstand van het huisje. Het bezoekerscentrum van de Maasduinen bereik je na een korte autorit waar wij de kinderzoektocht rond het meer hebben gemaakt (je betaalt €2 voor de educatieve kaart).
